Trade Thought about the 2012 1st

If we get the #1 this year, what about trading it to LAC in return for our 2012 pick back? We may have to add a little incentive, but I think they might go for it.

Gotta take Perry Jones if he's available. If Rubio comes over our 2012 pick will hopefully be in the 10-15 range. Jones is better than anyone in that range.

No way in hell.

If Irving looks solid we look to rtrade Rubio for pur pick back plus incentive.

call me crazy, and you'd have every right to, but i think we are gonna go over 30 wins next year and have a pick in the 9-12 range next year, still the kind of pick you'd get in a deep draft at that spot might be better than anything you could get at the number 1 pick this year, if we got the number 1 pick this year and took say irving, i wonder if rubio himself would be enough to get the pick back and if not, how much we would have to add with rubio...i gotta believe the clippers would be very interested in him.

I know what you mean, our best player plays PF. Perry Jones is a great talent though and you gotta try to make it work. Love has held his own playing the 5 in spot minutes, so a 3 man rotation of bigs would work with Jones.

I feel like there's a shortage on good shooting guards. Hard to say if we get a shot at getting Jones if we keep him and see how he is/fits with this team or deal him for a nice PG/SG/C.

I haven't given up on Johnson as a sg yet. Maybe I'm crazy, but I envision him getting a lot more open looks with Rubio running the offense.

It's quite possible, hard to say. I would be very tempted to get Iggy if we had to give up WJ, probably would, but then again I'd like to see him play with Rubio & have more experience. Tough decisions.

The thing is, What Wes might become alongside Rubio is what Iguodala has already proven he can do in this league without Rubio.

If we get the #1 there is no way we dont take Irving.

Why would we trade the #1 pick for a future pick, and why we need to throw in more incentive? I don't care how bad you think this years draft is, there will be at least a couple decent players available and there's no Shaq or Lebron coming out next year.

Anyway, if I'm going to trade this years pick, it's going to be for something that makes next year pick worth less by improving us right away, not a future draft pick.

I'll also point out that if a new CBA were to raise the age limit again to 20, the 2012 draft would probably suck too.

This is a great point.

I agree here. If you get the #1 pick, you order your Kyrie Irving jersey, thank Ricky Rubio for all he's done for the organization and ask Cleveland, Sacramento, and Detroit how they are feeling about their PG situations and work something out with one of them.

I think people are kidding themselves if they think the 2012 draft is going to stocked with talent. Where is the talent coming from? It's not in college right now and this year's high school seniors don't have a group of game-changing players among them. Austin Rivers looks pretty darned good, but he's not a franchise-changing player.

As it is, I do some improvement from the Wolves in the next year and we will surely be in the lottery, but I'm thinking of a pick more in the 8-12 zone.

Listening to Kahn talk about our need for improvement in the back court and a need for veteran players, you can't help but wonder if he isn't kicking himself for outwardly condemning Iggy and his deal. Kahn is not a stupid man, I just hope he realizes that if we don't improve ourselves at the 2 prior to the deadline, we will have virtually no chance of doing it at all prior to next season.

This deal seems like a no-brainer to me unless Philly is being stupid and asking for the world for a heavily-priced player.

Kahn has talked openly about Iguodala having a bad contract in the past.

Has he? I remember him saying that Kevin Martin has a bad contract, but not Iguodala. Can you post a link, please?
