Will Brewer be here beyond this season?

Since Brewer was inserted into the starting lineup last week, his shooting percentages and scoring average is steadily improving. Over the last 5 games, he has increased his offense averaging 13.2 ppg. Here is a look at the type of shots he’s taking during this stretch:
•Shots from 0 to 10 feet = 15/25 or 60% (excellent)
•Shots from 11 to 22 feet = 4/10 or 40% (average)
•Three-point shots = 2/11 or 18% (yeah bad)
•Free Throws = 22/29 or 76% (decent)
The good sign for the Wolves is that more than half of all the shots that Brewer has taken are inside the key where he’s hitting them at 60%. They include a combination of lay-ups, dunks and running jumpers. He’s starting to cut down those crazy spin move bankers or out-of-control shots that make you cringe, and he’s concentrating more on finishing the play. He’s also drawing fouls and getting to the free throw line, at a rate of 5.8 per game. He’s also getting “And One” plays on a regular basis. I like the effort hes bringing latley and ther fact that hes taking better shots.
As a starter this season, in 9 games, he averaging 43% FG, 39% 3PT, 77% FT, 2.6 stls and 12.7 ppg.
Also, as of today, hes 6th in the NBA in steals, and plays at least 10 mins fewer than the guys ranked above him.
At the moment, we know he’s good enough for at least 2 lay-ups, 1 dunk, 1 jumper, 5 FTs and maybe 1 three per game = 15 pts. If we can keep him for a fair contract, I say hes worth every dollar.
