Former Wolves Players

Post#1 » by Cyborg21 » Thu Feb 17, 2011 3:25 am

There are some former wolves putting up some pretty good stats now. Just how bad is the player development and/or attitude around here?

oh yeah, draft choices. Cousins looks pretty good, not to mention Flynn and Rubio. Flynn has been garbage this year and Rubio might not even want to come to Minnesota. Could of had Curry, Derozan etc.

Well, at least all of those players are on bad teams. Also, they aren't putting up great stats. Break-out nights can happen to almost anyone. They are after all in the NBA. I'd feel a lot worse if these guys were putting up better stats on good teams but that's simply not the case. Big Al is sort of an exception, but like KG, we knew what we were trading away a talent. Not saying we are all hunky dory but the cynicism is getting old.

extremely frustrating team and season. Its hard not to think what could of been. especially cause it keeps happing to the wolves with bad draft picks and singings etc. until we get a good veteran player or 2, were going to suck, and were a long way away from being good. Feels like there's no hope in sight despite the talent thats on this team.

I think we all knew Sessions wasn't being utilized correctly when he was here. Glad to see him doing well.

Seeing Gomes go off on us hurts and I hope Craigers gets better soon, I'd love to get him back someday.

outside of those three I only care that Marbury is out of this League and KG is healthy and doing well.

what an absurd topic. You know, this is both Gomes and Foye's worst statstical season yet? They had a few good games you say? Wow, an NBA player being capable of having the occasional great game. Who woulda thunk it.

I am sure you were absolutely raving about our players/player development when Wayne Ellington had his good game against Houston, huh?

Silly title, none of our former players are doing anything meaningful anywhere (KG of course is the exception and we all know he would do great anywhere).

Even Al Jefferson has been worse this season then when he played for us.

Ramon Sessions has been good the last month but before that was garbage.

The only thing that pisses me off is tnhe fact that they always have their 2-3 good games of the season against us...grrrr....

I don't get why people are surprised about Gomes having good games like this either. Didn't he average 20ppg for a month when he was here with us? I think it was the year before we got Love.

its mostly, why couldn't these guys put away games while they had on Wolves jerseys. 11 4th quarter points from those two and 39 for the game? you know Gomes is going to lay a goose egg soon, why couldn't it have been against us so we could beat the Blakers once for Love.

they are both really great guys and I like them, but when they play for another team now, a team that beat us.

Gomes' 18 points were his most in the last 27 games

I'm as frustrated with this season as anybody else and we need to vent periodically. I don't think we need several new threads after every loss to vent, though. I was going to lock this but instead I'm going to hijack it....

I noticed the Portland board has an Official Rant thread that seems to work well. What do you guys think about something like that here? A consolidated place to vent your frustrations, wallow in self pity, or just rant about something that bugs you (within the TOS of course)? Good idea? Bad idea?

I think the Official Rant thread is a good idea. I agree that the new rant thread after every game is getting kind of old but some good discussion pieces do come up in them.

Can I make a rant on someone else's rants? :D

But yeah, this is getting tiresome. Some of you guys just need to be patient. We are the youngest team in the entire league and like others already said, almost every NBA player is bound to have good/great game once in a while. It happens. Except for DeSagana Diop.
(When I just looked up his name I found out he scored/tied his career high one game against Minnesota. Talk about coincidence. Granted, he scored a whooping 10 points, though.)

I have no idea how Gomes had played when he was a Celtic but in every season that he played for us he started badly each season only to improve as the seasons progressed. I think there's a pattern to see here.

Also, I guess everyone knows Gomes can be a decent role player. Problem is or rather was, that he IS a role player and while he wasn't paid like a 2nd fiddle he had to play the 2nd fiddle offensively. That's always going to be an issue for a team if a player like Gomes is more than a role player. As I implied, while he wasn't overpaid, his contract was just too long for a player with little to non upside and a team that desperately needs talent with lots of upgrade.

Guys, the reason our old guys go off against us is because we don't play any defense.
