If Mellow dealt: AR AND Curry to Minny

Alan Hahn of Newsday reports Eddy Curry would go to the Minnesota Timberwolves, if Carmelo Anthony is traded to the Knicks.
Minnesota would also get Anthony Randolph and they would send a future first round pick to Denver, according to the report.
The Wolves only have one open spot on the roster and only enough cap room to accept Curry's contract, so a move has to be made by David Kahn to bring in both Curry and Randolph.
That player going out could be Sebastian Telfair. He and his $2.7 million salary and expiring contract would probably go back to the Knicks.

Seems like we shouldn't have to take on that much salary in a Randolph for 1st swap but Randolph has always been hard to value.
Wouldn't it be great if Curry turned his career around here? Then we could stomp the Knicks frontcourt with Mr 31/31 and their two forgotten big men.

Right and with the increasing value of the Utah pick I am surprised that we need to lose a bunch of cap and a decent pick for Randolph.

They shouldn't have to, but I guess it's a "signature move." Sadly, a signature move should be a positive thing, not a pathetic thing.
Ugh.

I do not understand this still.
1st= Randolph...sure, I can agree with this.
but what is the incentive for taking on Curry?
At least (apparently) we are not giving up Brewer here.
Some days I would just want to take over the wolves.

do what they gotta do, they're not making a big move w/ the cap space so if this is what they have to do to get Randolph, I'm all for it. This is all we can do is take these talented guys and give them opportunities they're not getting and hope for the best. Same situation as w/ Darko and Beasley

I agree that it's better than doing nothing. But still pretty disappointing if it's all there is.

Probably our only move, but at least we are doing something.
Where would we send Bassy?

Eddy Curry doesn't matter. Get this deal done. We're not getting any major deals done anyway.

sounds like the Wolves won't be sending a pick to the knicks for Randolph.

According to Ken Berger's latest tweet our end of the deal would be sending Brewer to Den with Randolph and Curry coming to Minny. I don't like using all of our capspace, but at least we aren't giving up a draft pick. Maybe we can send Hayward out too to open a roster spot up for 2011/12.
Wouldn't mind getting my hands on Afflalo either even if it meant giving up a pick or 2.
I still think we are losing value-wise, but it's not as bad as the earlier rumour.
