PEK

How do you guys think Pek's minutes are going to be affected by this trade? I hope that he doesn't have time taken away. He's one of the few players on our team who has shown improvement and could end up being a pretty good player.

Thoughts?

Probably not much at all. His minutes are already extremely limited do to his fouls, and Randolph and him seem like they would fit together very well. If anyone stands to lose minutes after this trade, it's probably Tolliver.

Or hopefully flipped for a SG.

I like Pek a whole bunch, but the only way I seem him here long term is if he is able to compliment Kevin Love...which he does not.

I think that Randolph gets brought along so slowly that the only one who will be affected this season is Koufos.

Bye Bye to Tolliver probably

IMO, Pekovic will be the single player affected most by this move, along with maybe Koufus.

Koufos sent to any team for a top 58 protected second rounder? Anyone? NY? You have no size. Shelden Williams? Comeonnow.

I wouldn't mind seeing us trade Pek, but I'm sure it will be AT instead. I'm always worried that bringing in a new C and getting rid of Pek could hurt Darko's ever so fragile ego.

I hope Koufos moves to NYC.

Well, we should find a new team for him. He's buried at the end of the bench now.

Well he should find a new team for himself. It seems he is held because a new trade may come in.

I personally wish he is signs with the Knicks or Magic.

I assume Kosta and Telfair (Flynn?) are heading somewhere soon...

I don't think they're going to be trading anyone. Pek is good enough to be a backup centre at least and Tolliver doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would complain about minutes and such. Keep them both, move Koufos and play them depending on matchups.

I'm going to be kind of upset if Tolliver loses his minutes. Not that he is great but he is smart, plays decent D (at least tries hard), and hustles. I really don't like the idea of this team getting even more younger and dumber. That said, I think Tolly will get more minutes at C and AR will get minutes at PF. I just can't see Randolph as a C he's just way too skinny atm.

With Darko's recent fragility and Magic Randy's history of fragility, I don't think this forces our hand to trade Pek. However, I think a team to keep an eye on might be Houston since (1) they were once rumored to like Pekovic before the season and (2) they are said to be shopping for a big man (Nene). They also have some wing talent that could interest us like Lee or Williams.

Williams would be insufficient, IMO, but I would trade Pek for Lee in a heartbeat.

I really like Pek's potential to be a scorer and underrated offensive rebounder in the NBA, but if we had to keep just one between him and Koufos, Koufos is the one to keep. He has a lower ceiling but needs less basic skills work, too. He's also cheaper.

I'm disappointed in Pek. He is still making some really dumb mistakes, and I thought he would produce more. Learning curve or not, I expected more out of him. I hope we could flip him, and some other pieces for that "singular" move Kahn planned to make.

we should keep Eddy Curry around to tutor Pekovic on being a low post scoring beast...and nothing more

Eddy Curry can only teach eating. Not even competitive eating. Casual/friendly eating.

Look what he did to Darko in just one half of a season.
