Really good trade for the Nets. Not sure what the Jazz are doing though. They already have Jefferson and Millsap. Not sure where Favors will play.

Hopefully they trade us Favors for Johnson and Pekovic.

Which would leave Webster and Ellington as our SGs? Yuck.

Shrug. It would leave the Wolves free to package all the 1st rounders (or Rubio if they were able to draft Irving) for a stud SG.

Nets have a way better package. They can offer Harris to replace D Will, not too shabby, their own first round pick, and Favors beats any of our young prospects by a mile.

Yeah, it wouldn't be a permanent situation. We'd have Flynn, Ellington, and two or three firsts to deal this offeason.

...how is this going to affect the Jazz pick?

Our division is falling apart.

all of a sudden the Jazz and Nuggets are simply "way better" than the Wolves instead of "hilariously superior" to the Wolves

I should have put that in the rant board.
In hindsight, it's a pretty risky deal for the Nets, considering Williams can still bolt after next season.

Rubio could be traded to a third team (doubt he'd play in Utah or here after this). We could also offer a pick swap (we have the second worst record, New Jersey has the 6th), picks from both Utah and Memphis, Johnson, and/or Beasley.
We could have done it. Of course we'd have just one full year to prove we actually are a Finals contending team. Pass.

Wow. The NBA and NHL (especially) have been nuts thus far for trades.

Rubio's rights, Wes, and their 1st. I don't think that would be enough, especially to move inside the division (which may be a non-starter anyways). It could, however, be something that could pass in 2K11
It'll be interesting to see what they do with their glut of bigs. I would think they keep Okur as he provides something unique and would fit well with the others and they obviously keep Favors. That would leave Al or Millsap.
I feel bad for Jazz fans and I'm wondering if there may be something to the "major markets get all the stars" sentiment that has been expressed recently.

Wait. Wasn't Deron a big part of sloan retiring? I'm confused.

Two thoughts:
First, if we found a way to draft Irving, I always assumed NJ wouldbe Rubio's landing spot. They had two assets we would have wanted, their 2011 first and Favors, an owner looking to give his franchise international appeal and were an east coast destination Rubio would apparently like to go to.
Second, are we ever going to get that Utah pick? Their roster isn't so good right now and they basically have to make the playoffs (or come damn close) by 2014 or it turns into a 2014 second round pick. Here is the full protection: "top-16 protected in 2011, top-14 protected in 2012, top-12 protected in 2013, top-9 protected from right to swap in 2014, else 2014 second-round pick."
