Re: The Newest Video Game Thread
I see a lot of people complaining but I am enjying the NBA Live demo. I find it refreshing to play a different basketball game and I am interested in the story mode. Might rent it a few times. I hope they do a decent job this year.

Wolves get an all time roster.
I see KG and Al Jefferson are on there lol. Who else you think it has?
Love?
Marbury?
Brandon?
Rider?

Re: The Newest Video Game Thread
I wonder what their requirements were to be on the team. Butler is probably already the best SF in Wolves history, but he hasn't actually played a game for the team yet. Ignoring any tenure requirements, my bet is:
Marbury/Cassell/Rubio
Wiggins/Campbell/Rider
Butler/Sczerbiak/Sprewell
Garnett/Love/Mitchell
Towns/Jefferson/Pekovic
If they're going only with retired players then swap Rubio, Wiggins, Butler, and Towns for Terrell Brandon, Doug West, Joe Smith, and maybe an out of position Pooh Richardson?

Haha Trenton freaking Hassell! That's great!
I totally missed Marbury.
This wolves squad will be fun
I plan to start a franchise with a bunch of randomly placed historic players and see what happens. Going to be talent everywhere, maybe I will make 4-5 expansion teams just to help a bit with the distribution. Will be fun to see what kind of careers some of these guys have in this new scenario, especially some of the lesser known guys or players who fizzled out early. Like Yao Ming, Marbury what will a 20 year career for them look like.

Laettner instead of Pek is interesting, but understandable. I am really surprised they have Hassell in there instead of Campbell. I guess you could make the argument that Hassell was a starter during a more important time, but I think Mitchell would have more of a claim if you're going for the "important to the franchise" angle.

Re: The Newest Video Game Thread
Got my hands on the 10 hour free Live trial.
They show each team with their top three players. We got one of the best top 3's, like top 5. Butler 91 Towns 91 Wiggins 86
The WNBA integration is kind of weak. They don't really say their names, they don't refer to the teams or the players as female. Seems like no WNBA commentary at all they just talk about the game like its some generic match up. most of the players look terrible. Augustus looks nothing like her beyond the basic necessitates, hair style, size.
On the wolves I looked over the roster and the picture they have for Bjlicia looks nothing like him. It could be him just looking super different or its some guy they mixed up with him.

Guys, in NBA 2K, roster will be adjusted automatically if any trade happens in reality?

Yea it may take a few days though.
One thing I see playing live I never noticed. The neon green is on the shorts, at least the road ones, its just a hint in the slit of the shorts but I actually like it, it pops. Jerseys seem decent in action. Will grow on me

NBA 2K18 The Prelude (Demo) is available today. Came out last night but the 2K servers were down on Xbox and PS4.

Re: The Newest Video Game Thread
I'm going to be playing both live and the 2K demo today. What I played of Live last night I liked. It feels a lot more basic than 2K but it kind of helps my enjoyment because in 2K the last few years I have really struggled shooting the ball and getting open. There are some crazy deals in place for live if you pre-order, you can essentially get the game for 35-25 bucks when it launches depending on your options. I think they are going way back and trying to pull off an NFL/NBA 2K5.
Way back in the day when Madden and Live dominated the sports gaming landscape, NBA 2K decided to release both NFL and NBA 2K5 for 20 bucks. This created a big stir and word got out. Lots of gamers decided to pick those games up along with Madden or Live or they just bought the 2K one instead because it was so cheap. NBA 2K already pretty popular at the time but NFL 2K a lot of peole never tried. When they got their hands on game it was amazing and it sold like hotcakes.
EA fearing what NFL 2K6 could to their Madden series made a huge move and bout exclusive NFL licenseship. There hasn't been an NFL 2K game since. I think this was a big mistake on the NFL's part as they could have been raking in huge money with two games out, especially considering how big 2K was getting. I know they get some money form EA but Madden isn't as big as it was 12 years ago either. NBA 2K is bigger which is crazy.

Re: The Newest Video Game Thread
They have certainly done a better job of making the Target Center in Live than they have in 2K.
In the 2K demo, when I got to try out for the wolves, they were playing in these practice uniforms. They really had a lot of the neon green, what do you guys think of the color when it gets more featured?
