would you trade kevin love?

Post#1 » by jcwkings » Mon Apr 4, 2011 12:41 am

if for whatever reason kevin love doesn't want to resign in minnesota (highly doubtful) would you guys consider trading him to the denver nuggets. We have some nice assets we could give.and if you would which of the denver nuggets would you like to be included in a trade.

No player on a 17 win team is safe, but I think the package would need to blow us away.

For another under 24 year-old all star? Possibly.

Otherwise totally inconceivable.

I'll trade him for Carmelo Anthony.

Oh, wait....

You don't trade the one proven player you have, that's just idiocy. And terrible, terrible marketing.

Eh. I was looking to see and there really isn't anyone, especially because most are RFAs. A re-signed Affalo + picks for Love + Webster would be the very start for a deal but doesn't even seem close, maybe if Love came out and publicly said he wanted to be traded? idk...

Obviously trade him If the package makes sense, but I can't think of any trades that do.

I'd want Afflalo, Gallo, Chandler, Nene, Lawson in some kind of deal.

Yep, I would definitely consider that. We give Love/Flynn/Ellington for Nene/Gallo/Lawson. Sahweeeet!

Agree it's possible, but as rev said it would have to blow us away. I could see something where we move him for help at a position like SG if we felt Randolph and Beasley were enough at PF if it was a big improvement at SG. But I don't see their being a lot of plausible scenairos out there.

I don't think the trade offer has to blow the wolves away, reasonable valuable for a better fit should get it done. He's got some strengths as a player, but he has his weaknesses. Even if you accept the argument that he's their only good player, it's not a big deal to trade your only good player when he is just that - a good player. He's not on the verge of saving the franchise...

I was wondering when you were going to pop in, I figured that you'd be all over this.

Yeah, I'm in real danger of being a one-issue poster so I try to bite my tongue on the subject as much as I can. Not doing so great at that... Still, got to make it clear that the forum has a range of opinions. I know I'm not the only one who isn't a huge fan of the guy.

This, and of course it has to make sense for Minny to make the trade. But, you can't build a franchise around a hustle player with limited talent. Corner stone, building block, sure but the focal piece, no way and if you could trade him for one then of course.

Hustle players with limited talent don't get drafted 5th overall. Hustle players with limited talent don't put up 20 ppg. Hustle players with limited talent don't grab 15 rpg. Hustle players with limited talent don't get 31/31. Hustle players with limited talent don't get a double-double in 53 consecutive games.

KEVIN LOVE IS NOT A HUSTLE PLAYER WITH LIMITED TALENT!
