Ellington Scouting Report Por Favor

Over on the Bulls board We've been going in circles and circles over who to get for our 2 guard going forward.

I watched a lot of Ellington at UNC cuz I'm a big Tarheel fan.

This what I posted on our board

What about Wayne Ellington ?

Minnesota has Johnson, SuperCool Bease, and Webster out on the wings.

Ellington can stroke the 3, is the right age, can be had cheap( I assume), is a decent athlete, played for a winning program in college.

I think Thibs can coach him up on defense.

The Timberwolves are a mess from top to bottom. A change of scenery may be all he needs.

Any input positive or negative would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

He's improved his skills but not his production. He's never really had an opportunity to get consistent minutes. Like most of the team, when the effort is there he can be a pleasant surprise, but the all out effort isn't always there. He can probably be had cheaply, but that would probably have to be a future protected first (2012 or later) because we don't really have a need for anything else you could offer anymore than we would need Ellington.

The Wolves could use Asik or Taj, but those two probably wouldn't be available if Ellington is all that's going to Chicago.

I would be happy with a 2nd round pick.

I agree with Horace. You can have him and Tolliver for Asik or Gibson. Tolliver would be loved in Chicago.

I'm on the who cares bandwagon. I'm sure we can nab a near meaningless late second round pick from Chicago for a guy who has has just as much ability as a coconut when it comes to creating a shot, but then we're just going to have to replace a bench player on a affordable contract who can hit the 3, which we really don't have a lot of in those late game situations.

I personally thought BEYOND Kevin Love.. Wayne Ellington was the only bright spot on this team to me last year. He is a hard worker, out before every game working hard on his game. I think he is a dedicated player with a good attitude, who will have a solid career in the league.

I would like to see him stay on this team long-term. I think he is a winner, on a team full of mostly losers.

But hey, most wolves fans are so down on the team, they really don't care about anything.

Can you really blame fans for not being optimistic? It takes a moment to think about how many consecutive non playoff appearances we've had. Nobody can blame me for not being optimistic. I'm still probably one of the few fans who believe Minnesota will be a playoff team next year, so maybe you can blame me for being a homer. I didn't really watch our losing streak stretch, but that's because I workout after I get home from work...with my snazzy new weight equipment.

Ellington is nothing special and getting attached to nice guys without talent has been this team's problem for years.

A late first would be fine. Considering how good Chicago has become I imagine it would be around the same spot that they picked Ellington in the first place.

Wayne would look great in Chicago.

Moving Tolly would be a big mistake.

I am not sure what would be offered or available. We are looking for package type deals.

I dont know why we'd want Gibson, or wanna move Tolliver, Asik if anything. I think Ellington could work in chi-town,

It won't be a popular opinion, but I think we could really use a veteran like Bogans, Butler, or Thomas.

However, my first choice is Asik.

I'd do Ellington/Tolliver/Flynn for Brewer/Gibson

Yep. But why would Chicago? It makes their bench worse.

You mentioned us having Webster, would you want him too? Webster for Brewer + protected 2012 Cha 1st? Please...

As for Ellington, he's moveable for sure, and he'd fit in nicely in chicago especially if he can be taught to play more defense.
