MIN gets good shooters to surround Rubio, and has players playing their natural positions.

LAC gets Irving to pair with Griffin, Beasley and Jordan.

Clippers say no way.

I think that's a legit offer. If we got the #1 pick, that is worth >>> a slim chance at the 2012 top pick, and it's worth more than Gordon, who would get his first big FA contract in 2012 (along with the rest of our stars). Maybe the #1 doesn't have the value for both, but Beasley, at 19 PPG, is far from an insignificant piece.

While Clipper POSTERS may say no way, I think that's something Donald Sterling would consider. Kyrie would sell a lot of tickets.

For us? I'm OK with it. I think we may value Beasley more than other teams, so it might be better to find a different piece. I think if we land the #1 pick tomorrow night, that Kahn will look to deal it, since he needs to show progress, and Rubio won't hold that level of trade value. Tough for me to give up Kyrie, but this seems like legitimate value.

I wouldn't do it if I was LAC.

Clippers just dumped their lotto pick to get Mo Williams and they have Bledsoe. AFA plays the same position as Beas. Not sure why the Clippers do this.

Kahn would be an idiot to trade the #1 pick just because Rubio has a lower trade value. With the #1 pick you flip Rubio to a team that needs a pg like the raptors

I'd trade our 1st/Wes/Beas for Gordon.

I think Clips do this, but I am skeptical of "grass is greener" reports of how awesome next year's draft class is.

I would do this easily, but would the Clippers? I don't think so.

Eric Gordon is a stud, he plays at a high level on both ends. I think he's the 4th best sg after wade,kobe,gino, and he might even be better then Gino.

Yes he's better then both IMO. Gordon is a nightmare on offense, and he plays great defense. He can play some pg duty, can hit the 3, get to the line, athletic, long arms...and he's young.

imo One coulde argue that quite a few shooting guards are better than gordon

Sterling is one owner who might do something like this because of the salary savings. I think Johnson/#1 for Gordon/2012 1st might have more merit... he wouldn't have to pay Johnson or Irving for a couple of years then (any other owner there is no chance, but with someone like sterling running things, there is a chance of this being a possibility)

They could've dumped Baron's contract without giving up that pick. Lucky for them, next year they will have a better pick than that 8th pick this year + their own pick in a better draft next year. They knew what they were doing.

I'd agree Wade, Kobe, Manu (til next year maybe) are above him.

How does that equate to them knowing what they were doing? Those things were true before the trade. Or are you saying they got rid of the lottery pick to be worse this upcoming season to get a better pick?
