Raps fan here; can Randolph play center?

Post#1 » by Leolovinliberal » Wed May 18, 2011 4:35 am

What's his legit height? Here's why I'm asking: would Kahn do #2, Flynn and AR for Bargs, Calderon and #5? We would take DWill and play him at the sf, which he played his entire life until he came to Arizona. We have an Arizona alum on our board and guarantees that he's more of a sf then a pf. Our Front court would be Williams, Randolph and Ed Davis. You guys would have a legit 20 ppg scorer in Bargnani, who would take some pressure off of Love, a tutor for Rubio and the # 5 pick. What say you? Thanks

great trade, but we can't take all your good players like that without feeling guilty. Reluctantly we could do Randolph for the #5 and call it a day. Done and done.

If that trade was allowable under salary cap rules, it would be beyond awful. The Wolves would end up with the worst defensive frontcourt in the league and would be downgrading from 2 to 5 for the honor of eliminating Toronto's terrible contracts. I wouldn't want Calderon or Bargnani under any circumstances.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

No thanks. Love/Bargnani frontcourt is awful defensively. We also do not at all want Calderon with Ridnour on the roster and Rubio coming (barring a lockout). Also we would need to add other players to come close to matching salaries. We have no bad contracts so those players would tip the scale even more in favor of the Raptors.

I don't think that I'd do this trade without the #2 included. Bargs and Calderon both have huge contracts and they're both absolutely terrible fits here. We don't want either at all.

My thinking was that with the 5 you could still get one of Kemba, BK, Bismack, Kanter, Val or Veasley. But I guess Bargs scoring isn't enough to sway you. Oh well, thanks again.

So it fails on the trade board for months and you bring this stuff over here now?
Nobody wants Calderon, and Bargs will never work next to Love. Nothing about that is ever changing.
Trying to steal the #2 for the #5 is a nice thought as well, what the hell are you guys smoking up there?
As we have pointed out many, many, many times on the trade board, Ridnour is a far better fit for this team than Calderon. He puts up better stats, costs far less, and will be fine being a backup.

No problem, thanks for being polite. But sorry I dont think any of us around here really have desire for ANYTHING you guys have other than Derozan and MAYBE the #5.

Yeah, I hear you. Thank you anyway, and good luck next season. I was in Minny last year on business and I really enjoyed your city.

Bargs and Love would give us the best rebounding duo in the league.

I wouldn't trade #2 for #5
I wouldn't trade AR for AB
I wouldn't trade JF for JC

Okay.. so its no go on the trade. Lets answer the title of the post...which is what I am curious about.

Seeing the success of Noah in Chicago who is 6'11 235 and is exactly the type of Center we could use....can AR be that type of guy. He is a similar size (maybe a tad lighter) and posesses a lot of the same skills (if not more) but with plays with less tenacity as do most people when compared to Noah.

AR - Darko
Love - Beasley - Tolliver
Johnson - Beasley
Harden (#2 to Okc) - Webster
Rubio - Ridnour

Your lineup is a little unrealistic, but I think Randolph could play centre, assuming he bulks up in the offseason.

If nothing else it would be better than starting Darko and definitely gives the team some much needed athleticism.
