ATH was saying that D. Williams wants to be #1 because..
Around the Horn on ESPN was saying
He doesn't want to go to Minnesota....
I guess Cleveland is like the LA of of the Midwest. The Twin Cites are so horrible in comparison. Williams is probably having anxiety issues over this.

Was it because of the location, or because the team already has 5 power forwards, including all-star Kevin Love entrenched as the starter? Either way, I don't really care if he's worried about it.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

I read earlier that Williams wants to make Cavs fans forget about LeBron. He wants to be THE guy there.

i saw this, but i thought it was around the horn....i'm not high on williams at all and would rather trade down to three and get something(maybe 12th pick alec burks?) from utah and then select jonas at 3...
rubio/ ridnour
burks/ wes/ martell
beas/ wes
love/ ar
darko/jonas
then see what you could get at all star break(after allowing flynn to get healthy and play better) for wes and flynn + maybe 2012 utah pick

It's not that players don't want to come to Minnesota. It's that they don't want to come play for this **** franchise, with the **** coach, **** GM, and **** owner.

Yea you are right. Around the Horn. It could be because of players but the way I read it, it was as if they were implying that he didn't want to be in the state. If ound it funny because I didn't get that from him when he said it, I think they are just putting their spin on it. Minnesota has a terrible connotation for NBA rooks it seems. Every year someone makes it out to seem like someone is dodging us.

Yea that's all he said. They tried to sell it as some slight to Minnesota. I'm surprised no one called them out on that. I swear ESPn loves slapping us in the face lol.

Everyone pretty much hates us, besides Rick Kamla, but he even knows we're a joke.

Anyone have the clip? Was it a shot against us or the situation?
I thought he had a meeting with the team today?

I believe the lottery team coaches/representatives were all invited to checkout his workout but Williams himself said that Minnesota (Rambis) wasn't there. Kind of a slap in the face to Williams by Rambis not showing up, unless he's in the process of getting canned, which sounds like he isn't at the moment.

As far as I know. Williams never said anything about Minnesota. He was just talking about how he would like to be number one which I am sure every player would.

A good number of teams didn't have their head coaches there, it wasn't just Rambis. Let's not get too excited.

How about...
Cleveland gets...#2, Martell Webster and Ronny Turiaf
NYK gets Sessions, Jodie Meeks and #20
Philly gets #4, Pekovic, Toney Douglas and cash (via NYK)
Minnie gets Iggy and Andy V and #17
Cleveland gets to pair Irving and Williams, while picking up two expirings in Webster and Ronny who are admirable (did I say expiring?) replacements for a likely departing sweet shooting Anthony Parker and an equally, wild-haired energizer bunny Andy. They lose a few long term commitments in Sessions and Andy and replace a roster spot with a young Martell all while getting the dream pairing off the two best prospects in the draft.
New York gets it's apprentice for Chauncey in Sessions whom we have coveted for years and fits our speedball attack. Jodie would be a perfect fit for what we do as well but if he's the deal breaker we can fill his spot with something else...maybe Craig Brackins (another player Donnie Walsh has had the hots for in the past). We move back three spots in the draft and grab the best available guy instead of trying to fill a need that isn't there for us at that spot.
Philly moves Iggy's contract and gets value in a lottery pick, a solid big brute of a big man in Pekovic that would fit with the toughness Coach Collins wants on the interior, a young back up point guard in the gritty Toney Douglas and cash to keep Thadeus Young around. They'd boast a core of Holiday/Turner/Thad/Sweet Lou/Speights/#4/Douglas and Elton Brand. All while trimming payroll and giving the team to the young guys.
Minnie has no need for more kids....and that's from Kahn's mouth. Andy fits next to Kevin Love perfectly and is a young, war-tested vet and character guy. He has the length and energy that you guys could use up front. Iggy is exactly what you guys need on the perimeter to be the centerpiece of your perimeter attack. And that's with or without Rubio coming over. #17 can be used on an international guy to remain stashed in Europe or can be moved in another deal....maybe Philly or Cleveland wants more and you can send the pick there. You guys have a wealth of young talent...more isn't exactly a NEED.
Feel free to flame away but I really think it's a fair and realistic idea. Everybody gets what they want.
