All star point guard fills a need for Minn. Thoughts?

if you guys were able to move up to the 8/9/10 spot with your own pick, i'd be pretty tempted to take 3 & 8/9/10 for number 2 alone and take valanciunas and burks...our two biggest positional needs and my top two targets.

I don't like including 20, I really like Brooks there.

If Rubio comes over, the obvious answer is no. Dallas, NJ, Utah...why can't Harris find a home?

Pass. Im happy with Rubio/Ridnour. I'm also keen on either keeping williams or his trade value @ #2.

But i do think Kahn will be looking to trade the pick, most likely for a pick next year.

It's interesting.

If we wanted Kanter or Biyombo anyway it would make sense. I wonder though if Utah would rather have Knight (or even Walker) than Williams.

I like Harris over Ridnour because he allows us to make match up adjustments. Harris gives us some speed on the perimeter that this team sorely lacks.

However, if we took on Harris, and Rubio was coming, we would have to dump two point guards still, which would be easier said than done. Utah would almost certainly have to take one back.

I would propose #2 + Luke for #3 + Harris. We would get to keep the #20.

That may make more sense. If we are worried about Rubio helping right away, Devin Harris is certainly a better starting PG. However, Kahn locked into Ridnour as an affordable back-up mentor. Devin Harris makes $9.3 next year, which means we're giving up a $5 mil TPE. More importantly, Harris makes $8.5 mil in 2012, when we may need financial flexibility to avoid the lux with new deals to Love, Beasley and Randolph due. Do we want that much money/production logging significant benchtime?

This smells like it would function better as a three-teamer, with Devin going to a third team who needs him more, and MIN getting better fitting assets from them.

I really like Devin Harris. Depending on Rubio, I probably do this.

Maybe you should ask Jason Kidd. He went throught the same thing, and look where he is at.

If Harris was still an All-Star caliber PG, he probably would have been able to help Utah hold onto their playoff spot.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''
