I actually think Kahn has put us in a good position to be relevant soon as far as core assets and cap situation. I think this is the vital offseason for us and I think I have the answer to turn this franchise around:

-Take Kanter at 2 he is a mix of Brook Lopez and Marc Gasol he also displays the fire and loyalty to become a solid defender. There will not be many teams that have 2 big guys that can stick with Love and Kanter
-Trade Wes and Pekovic for Iguodala. Yes his contract is not nice but he brings the leadership and defense to anchor this team.
-Trade #20, Flynn and whatever other filler it may take for Mayo. Mayo js the perfect 6th man that can even run a little point if need be I think he could really flurish with our young group of talent.

The OP plan is not bad. I, frankly, don't know what I'd do this year. I'd want to add a vet (for competitive/development purposes) and fire Rambis, because I don't think the team will ever succeed with him (playoffs maybe, but not more than a 1st round exit).

The lockout/CBA issue really makes things difficult. We don't know the salary structure will work, so do we buy the farm now during so much uncertainty? We don't get our pick next year, so winning now should be a priority.....but is being a .500 team worth crippling our possible future from a financial standpoint?

I'm really hands off with my opinions this season, because I believe that the Front Office and Ownership have more information, and I am trusting their more informed opinions. I think I'll support whatever happens, and judge it about a year from now.

I also think I would end up drafting Enes Kanter and while i'd certainly be willing to trade for Iggy, I would be trading for him to be the SF not the SG as his entire career has shown it to be by far his best position for both his personal production and his teams production as well.

Beasley would be leaving in any deal i'd make for Iggy and i'd be desperately trying to keep Wesley Johnson because he fits next to Iggy and so does Webster for that matter. I'm not sure the 76ers would have any interest in Beasley so you might need a third team.

I like this except instead of Mayo grab a SG with the #20. If it works out, package Flynn and the #20 to move up a few spots. Otherwise toss in Flynn with the Philly deal and consider it cutting losses. But I am selling the haterade on Mayo and I think there are several good SG prospects that will fall to #20.

Also, for consideration, I think it might be worth seeing what Wes does next year. It's just not right to judge what he can and can't do on his rookie season. I really like:

Love
Kanter

Everyone but the PG has an outside shot, the PG can pass like to leave your eyes on another part of the court, Beasley has iso-cold blood and Kanter has wicked moves inside. And that's before KLove cleans the glass. Let's see what happens.

I've been thinking about the future pick owed by utah. I wonder how receptive they would be to an offer of future pick the wolves own for the #12 in this years draft. The weak draft this year makes the 12 worth a pick thats probably late teens, mid twenties in a typical draft. Seems like they are fairly honed in on knight and kanter at 3. They are stacked at PF, and Harris is a respectable guard.

Maybe something like future pick returned + MEM pick for 12.

Then work a deal with DET, rip + 8 for 12 + flynn + webster. MAybe try and grab wallace to as a mentor to biyombo! But we can leave out that silliness

Grab williams(or irving) @ 2 and decide what to do with the situation later or take best available deal
grab a fa guard whos big enough to play some 3, maybe CDR? seems like a decent defender and shoots it well.

With the caveat that I've never seen him play, I would try to trade Rubio while the iron is still "hot" (is it still hot?).

His stats in Europe are terrible.

It's not really.

Rubio has more value to Kahn and the Wolves than any other team. 1. We need to solidify the PG spot, Kahn thinks Rubio is the answer (after and adjustment period.) 2. Kahn spent a lot of time and resources in convincing Rubio to be a part of the Wolves future.

I don't think this is outrageous, I'm just not sure it's what I want. This whole thing revolves around Kanter being the long-term answer at the 5 and I just can't commit to that right now. He's not a difference-maker defensively and when you pair him with Love you commit to being weak around the rim. Add in the fact that we would be keeping Beasley in your scenario and our front court is still among the worst in the league defensively. As much as Wes struggled at times last year, his defensive potential is there and I'd actually much prefer keeping him than Beasley. I realize Beasley's trade value may not net Iggy, but I would push that route as much as possible.

I can't get behind dealing for Mayo - he's at least an average SG in the league and it's nice having a given, but I don't see him taking his game to the next level because he just doesn't have the athleticism or size to do it. There's more risk here, but I would almost rather work towards drafting an Alec Burks or Marshon Brooks than using assets to get Mayo.

Things need to happen prior to 2011-12 season

Rubio in - Flynn out ... I've never watched such poor defense as I've seen from Flynn - at any level of the game. It's sad and unacceptable. What's worse is that he got minutes anyway.

Add legit SG ... We sorely need a player who can handle the ball and score while playing atleast average defense. No, Measley is not that guy.

Add legit F/C ... We have bigs who are not athletic or bigs who are sub par defenders ... we need to have a big who is a consistent presence once and for all.

Rambis ... make a decision already. Kahn needs to know if he has the brains or not, and likewise, Kahn needs to share accountability on the teams performance ... no legit SG and Darko didn't hold up as he promised. Rambis needs to realize he screwed the pooch misusing Pekovic, never should have let Flynn set foot on the floor, and his rotations are a joke.

My intentions would be to move Beasley & Flynn. Likely Draft Williams.

I'm less high on Love than most fans, but here goes how I'd go about this off-season:

neither team gives up core pieces; both teams get players that would fit--what I perceive to be--needs.

I like Childress but his contract is probably a non-starter for us.

If the heat Westbrook is taking boils over I'd love to find a way to trade for him. I'm sure he and Love would be happy to play together again.

Let Love and Westbrook play together in OKC. Trade Love/Wes/Flynn/#2 for Durant. Then Durant and Beasley can play together here. Plus Durant thinks Darko is one of the best centers in the league.
