Michael Beasley for Jameer Nelson?

Post#1 » by Skin » Sat May 21, 2011 2:10 am

Would a Michael Beasley for Jameer Nelson be a trade you guys would accept or is that a no?

I was just pondering the thought since I thought you guys might be interested in Derrick Williams with the #2 pick and the position already being full. With Nelson, even if Rubio comes over, you would be able to cushion his transition to the NBA. Or you could trade him... I'm not sure what you guys think about your PG position, but I think from an outsider's opinion Flynn is more of an NBA backup type. Thoughts?

Probably not, that would only leave us with Ridnour, Nelson, Flynn and Rubio to play PG.

Which is why we need to pull the trigger...

Jokes aside, not thanks. Isn't he 30 now?

Not for Beasley.

Definitely not - Jameer is not the type of PG the Wolves should be targeting.

No interest in Jameer. He has never really been the same as he was pre-injury that year you guys went to the finals.

Thanks for the replies.

Other than Jameer, does anything else the Magic have besides Howard work? S&T for Jason Richardson, JJ Redick, Ryan Anderson, Brandon Bass, or Daniel Orton?

I like Daniel Orton. Not for Beasley though.

as much as I'd love to have JJ Redick, I just don't think Orlando is a good trading partner unless you're willing to take a combo of Flynn, Webster and Darko for your stuff.

We need a center and SG, most preferably great at defense, not another offensive point guard.

For what? Beasley? No, there's no interest in declining veterans and young bit players.

How about Pekovic though? You need a backup centre, right?

To be fair, who has? Everyone misses a game every now and then. He had the one season with the shoulder issues, 5 of his 7 seasons hes player 65+. Injuries aren't a concern with Jameer to me, and I'm a Magic fan.

As for the deal I don't see why Minny would even consider adding Jameer with Flynn and Ridnour already there and Rubio coming in.

This guy just always seems to be beat up. I may be imagining it just because I hate the Magic, but even when he's on the court he's got naggy things. I've hated the Magic since the mid 90's, I won't even trade with them in 2k, so this may just be my bias showing.

To be fair I really do like Nelson, I had fun watching him and Delonte at StJoes. He just flat out doesn't fit here AND isn't worth Beasley to us.

The BYC makes it tough, but I'd do something around Beasley for JJ Redick.

Beasley/Flynn for Redick/Duhon?

Johnson/Webster
Love/Randolph
Darko/Pekovic
Redick/Ellington
Rubio/Duhon/Ridnour

... and that's before the Wolves do something with the #2 (draft Williams? Trade for Bogut or Iguodala?) I think that's workable... Magic fans?
