I'd do it since I would prefer we take Kanter or Biyombo anyway.

First choice would be a vet, but this wouldn't make me angry.

I would absolutely do this. I think we have a better shot at landing a vet offering some team the 3 and 12 instead of the 2 and 20. Maybe 3 plus 12 and players from our roster can get you Bynum. I think it could definitely get you Bogut.

No. You don't trade down from the #2 spot in a 2 player draft.

This is what I would have said, but Kanter has been growing on me

I decline. Your future pick (even with the protections) has more value than the 12th pick in this years draft.

We might not even get their future pick

I posted this in the wrong thread lol. :lol:
It was meant to be in the other thread that offered #2 and Jazz 1st returned for #3 and #12

Their pick is top 14 and top 12 protected in 2012, 2013 and we have option to swap picks with them in 2014 (if it's not in the top 9).
I'll take that chance over drafting a scrub in this years draft.
I'm not confident that we can get an impact player outside the top 7 or 8 and if we want a late lottery pick this year we have enough assets to trade up.

I see a pretty good gap between the potentials for the #2 pick and the #3, so this is a "no" for me.

I think the shrink version is closer:

#2 + #20 for #3 + #12 + 2012 GSW 1st

GSW 1st:
protected top 7 in 2012
protected top 7 in 2013
protected top 6 in 2014
else 2014 second round pick and 2016 second round pick

Since I'd rather have Kanter or Biyombo ahead of Williams, I don't think the Wolves would be missing out here.

I do not like this move. The difference in 2 to 3 is much more than the difference of 12 and 20 (eat it math people.)

We will package the pick for a vet player or simply take the BPA. We are looking for immediate improvement, not stockpiling draft picks.

Best player available is going to be williams.we cant have beasley.williams,and johnson on the same team.
we need a sg and center and
kanter at 3 takes care of center needs
mayo fixes our sg needs.
raja bell brings defense and leadership
of course if you can get 3 and 12 from Utah for just the 2nd overall pick then thats even better draft honeycutt at 20

I like that - could get us back into a deep draft next year.

I would then draft:

Kanter at #3

Package #12 and Beas to the Kings for the 7th pick. With #7 I select a true SG Alec Burks.

Screw all of this, forget the "to young" crap. I say at the start of the year you go:

Rubio/Rid/TJ Ford (through FA)
Alec/Ellington
Wes/Webster
Love/Randolph/Tolliver
Kanter/Darko/Tolliver

Let the kids just play their hearts out!!

bware, that is not value for the 2nd pick.

If Williams is truly the best player available then we grab him and move someone else around. If we feel we can get a better player by moving down or by a trade then we do that. We need talent and can move things to fit that talent.

It's debateable whether Utah would really offer that
Biyombo won't be there at #12
#20 and Flynn for Mayo would easily be outbid by teams like Indiana who could offer a similar package including a higher pick.
Sixers won't take that offer because it's not enough value
Tayshaun Prince will go to a contender
