Twolves trade down for Kanter with Jazz

Jazz fans here:
Twolves out: pick 2 + Jazz outstanding pick (via Jefferson trade)
Twolves in: pick 3 (Kanter) + pick 12
Jazz out: pick 3 + pick 12
Jazz in: pick 2 (DW) + Jazz outstanding pick (via Jefferson trade)
Reason why:
Twolves had 2nd pick, most likely D-Will. And your team already have Basely and Love and 3 & 4~~ no matter DW play 3 or 4, he seems will be bench. I don't think Twolves repeat 76ers last year experience. Kanter will be the most suit n value player for Twolves.
11 draft seems weaker than 12 draft, but Outstanding pick is lottery propected and will not be a lottery. Now you can have 12 pick this year.
Jazz: After Kanter reject visit~~ Kanter seems no hope to play for Jazz!! And we will target DW as our 3...~~ Also we can use 12pick to clear our outstanding!!
Whats Twolves fans view?? Whats the gap Jazz need to fill in??
Our Assets: Harris, Millsap, Bell, Jazz 12 2nd pick~~

Both teams need a true star, and the chance Derrick Williams becomes one is much greater than anyone at #3. This seems fairier:
UTAH GETS: #2 + #20
MIN GETS: #3 + #12 + GSW 1st (top 7 protected)
There could also be some gap made up by having you lower the protections on your 2012 UTA pick, which we own, but I think the GSW pick makes more sense if we're giving up Williams.

The only way the pick gets moved is if a significant established player comes in return. 1--it is a two player draft; 2--the wolves need to consolidate assets not gain additional middling assets ; and 3--most importantly the Wolves must show significant improvement or else Kahn is gone. For these reasons, I don't see a trade down.

Carpe Diem hit most of them, but I think we would also have to consider it is Utah. We have your pick next year AND you are in our division. More reasons why we don't want you to land D. Williams. You'd have to pay.

Can we even trade our pick now? I think we have to wait til after we make the pick because we owe the Clippers a 1st.

GSW 12 top 7 protected pick is a valuable asset for Jazz, especially so many prospects skip this year draft. Jazz will not trade 12 GSW pick.
May be adjusted the trade to:
TWolves In: Pick 3 + Pick 12 + Raja Bell + 12 2nd round Pick
Jazz In: Pick 2 + Outstanding Pick+ Ridnour
1, Raja can be your team Locker Room Leader expecially TWolves is a Young Team~~
2, Clear the room to play Rubio and Flynn
3, Raja is shorter and smaller contact than Ridnour

no i'm pretty sure B is correct, you can't trade picks in consecutive years so i'm sure we won't be able to

As far as I know, a team cannot make a trade that leaves them without a first round pick two years in a row. Since we have the #20 pick in the first round as well as the #2, the #2 can be traded.

We have a winner. And even if we want to trade both these picks we can always buy a late 1st rounder before that deal to avoid violating that rule.

i'm pretty sure it doesn't matter about other draft picks a team may have, they can't trade their own pick 2 years in a row
edit: actually i think you are right

DO NOT WANT KANTER. DO NOT WANT TO BE DESTROYED IN THE PAINT.
Have you guys learned nothing from the Love/Jefferson years? Kevin Love needs to play next to a PLUS Defender who can alter shots for us to have any chance to win. Kanter will never, ever, ever be that guy. He is a poor man's Pekovic with a jump shot. Don't repeat past mistakes.
The dropoff from 2 to 3 is pretty steep (even in such a crappy draft year). I'm not at all interested in #12. The future top 7 protected GSW pick is what I want in a trade-down. I would also trade #2 + change (Flynn, #20?) for Derrick Favors. But I don't see Utah biting on any of that. I think they'll be happy to pick from Valanciunas, Brevin Knight, Biyombo, and Vesely. Derrick Williams really isn't a fit there. Should Irving fall however....

We technically haven't been able to trade our own pick since the Marko Jaric trade went down.
That won't stop us from picking a player and then trading him.

The Stepien Rule states that you can't make a trade where you may have no first rounders for the next two drafts. It says nothing about keeping your OWN pick in the next two drafts.
As long as we have the MEM 1st, or trading both MIN and MEM and getting back a 1st this year, we're fine with the rule.
This trade is fine. The biggest violators tend to be deals where we trade both MIN and MEM pick for vets like Iguodala or Bogut. If we're not getting a 2011 or 2012 1st back (not protections, it must be conferred by 2012), we can't trade both picks.

The drop off from 12 to 20 does not justify the 2 to 3. There has to be much more coming back.
All indications are that we are will package something for a vet. Whether it is the 2nd or a package of our young guys. I do not expect lateral moves like this. Too much talk of being "too young" and Kahn becoming desperate for immediate success.
