Rambis doesn't seem too happy with how things are shaking out. I swear Kahn enjoys burning people he needs to work closely with lol.

Poor Rambo....left in the dark. He should probably just assume that he's done and start making phone calls around the league to get back on as an assistant somewhere. If it turns out they'll give him another year, no harm no foul.

If he is hoping to land another head coaching gig somewhere soon, this doesn't help him

If he's hoping to land another coaching gig somewhere else he should probably learn to coach.

I don't believe that it's been decided. I bet it's still up in the air. Most here would agree that Minnesota isn't the top destination for those who are considered good coaches, so I think Kahn is being realistic and waiting to find that candidate who is still available.

I have my fingers crossed for Lawrence Frank, Sam Mitchell, or Rick Adelman. Not sure if I can handle another season of Rambis.

Writes for USA Today. RT @jmikeNBAusat told by a source that #Twolves will bring back #KurtRambis but force him to retool his staff.

I don't know, I just have a hard time believing Kahn & co. have made a decision yet.

I hope so. Casey was on the Dan Barreiro show today and was very high on Rubio when asked about him. Maybe it was just the way I took the interview but it sounds like he is open to talking with any team that is interested in him as a head coach. The guy is just pure class.

Heh, no joke. I don't know if Rambis can complain too much. He's been an AWFUL head coach and should have already been fired, and has a guaranteed contract. I'm not shedding any tears for him.

That would actually go a long way towards improving my attitude toward Kahn. I think that Casey is actually a good coach and got a really raw deal the first time around. Which is why I would be surprised if he would agree to come back. Maybe with McHale gone, he would consider it. I hope.

I think it's not even Kahn's call or it would have happened as soon as the season ended. Taylor and his partners are not willing to pay 2 coaches during a lockout. So Rambis is lame ducking his way until the CBA is settled and possibly further if they really go cheap and just force him to change to a P&R offense and scrap his defense and ass't. coaches. He will be a virtual puppet coach doing what they tell him to until they are ready to can him.

This. I'm surprised Rambis hasn't apparently been able to figure this out by himself yet.

Also, the last sentence reminds me of the firing Casey to give McHale some coaching reps with Whittman waiting in the wings saga that happened. McHale and Taylor wanted their trustworthy puppet coach, and Casey only had the team playing .500 ball (which at least had that team in the playoffs).

I think the raw deal stuff had more to do with how he was treated by Glen Taylor than how McHale treated him.

McHale isn't the one who decided to fire him?

Not that Taylor shouldn't take his share of blame, as with all of the franchise's failures, which are ultimately traced to him.

From what I heard at the time. Taylor was fed up with the team's ineptitude. He even started sitting directly behind Casey during games, eyeballing. It seemed like a very uncomfortable situation. Casey knew he was in hot water. I also heard that it was Taylor who ultimately wanted Casey gone above anyone else. McHale was supposedly the more understanding one.

?

Whittman took over right after Casey was fired. As bad of a firing as that was, it wasn't to "get McHale some coaching reps". Perhaps you are thinking of the stint McHale coached after he fires Flip and before he hired Casey.

Add a defensive specialist and modify the system that best compliments the players.

I really don't want Rubio running Kurt's offense. If Rubio wasn't coming, I'd be fine letting Wes and Beasley try to expand their games another year in the triangle, but not now. We don't need Rambis smashing another PG's dreams.

Blame Moor.

They tried to low ball Rambis, he will not settle for less than the whole amount.

Taylor will just promote JB, bring a new coaching staff, and give it a one year run. We will not bring in an outside head coach.

I'm no Rambis fan, but this is a terrible way to handle things. Fire him or keep him but make a decision.
