The Wolves Many Options ?
I have been reading all of the rumors, reports and fan sites over the last few months and have gathered that most Wolves fans would want one or two of the following players for next season.
Andrew Bogut
Andre Iguodala
Rudy Gay
Monta Ellis
Danny Granger
OJ Mayo
Javale McGee
Marc Gasol
Pau Gasol
Marcin Gortat
Anderson Varejao
Demar DoRozan
Like I said this is based off of rumored, trade, fans site....ect bottom line question is who due you want most for that list and is it at all possible for the Wolves with their number of draft picks and young players to land a daily double and grab two of these guys while still keeping Rubio,Love and at least one of Beasley,Johnson or Randolph on the squad as well ?
So what should we due.My ideally plan would be to land both Bogut and Rudy Gay while still having Rubio,Love and Johnson on the squad.I don't know if that's possible but I can dream.Having those five as the starting five should be enough to get us close if not into the playoff next year or at the very worst the playoffs the following year.
Anyway things boil down in the coming weeks the Wolves at the very least need to land one of those players listed and hopefully two.In my eyes this season is a make or break and a true turning point.

I don't want anything to do with Granger, Mayo, Gay, or McGee. My main targets from that list would be Bogut or Marc Gasol.
Eric Gordon is my ideal player to trade for though.

What should we do? Nothing. Draft Williams at 2, get a new coach or hope that Rambis is smart enough to develop a new system. Roll with
Rubio/Ridnour/Flynn
WJ/Ellington/Webster/Ridnour
Beasley/WJ/Williams/Webster
Love/Randolph/Williams/Tolliver
Darko/Pekovic/Love/Randolph
Rubio/Ridnour/Flynn
WJ/Ellington/Webster/Ridnour
Beasley/WJ/Williams/Webster
Love/Randolph/Williams/Tolliver
Darko/Pekovic/Love/Randolph

I wouldn't be a fan of that move, pretty much just adding Rubio and Williams two more rookie wouldn't really help us win to many more games. We would still be probably at least two or three years off from being a true playoff caliber team.If everyone pans out maybe a year early.
I am so very tired of sucking and its time that the Wolves are back in the playoff hunt.So that's why I am in favor of adding one or hopefully two of those guys I listed that can speed up are going process and get us into that last playoff spot hunt this year and more then likely a sure fire playoff team the following year.Hell I am even in favor of adding Pau Gasol as long as we keep Rubio,Love or the #2 pick and one of Beasley or Johnson.Yes he's going to be 31 and is a high priced guy but has rings and has lead a team into the playoffs as THE MAN before. So even if were not a contender but a playoff team with him is good enough for mean for the next few season. Then hopefully when his contract is up we can land another stud player that can be put around Rubio,Love or Williams,Beasley or Johnson whom will all be in their primes with playoff experiense at that point.

Done, where do I sign?
EDIT: Although, really, let's talk about Mozgov instead of the 22. And realistically, we should probably bring in a 3rd team for Felton. But basically, although Williams would be in the same division, and Denver is in a position to win much sooner than the Wolves, I would seriously think about this.
I am probably one of the only ones here who would, though.

What does Minni offer for both these players?
Would the Bucks take: Darko, Flynn, #20 for Bogut? Salaries match up and gives them a center to work with and a back up PG in which they want
Then, Beasly + Webster + Ellington for Gay? Would they do that? They get a SF to replace Gay (who can score) and two shooting guards(in case Mayo leaves)
5. Bogut/Pekovic/Tolliver
4. Love/Randolph
3. Williams/Randolph
2. Gay/Wes
1. Rubio/Ridnour
What a dominate team that would be... if they got those two players

or if the Bogut + 10 for #2 works,
use the #20 or #10 to send for Gay in a package

mozgov is a valuable piece for us. but taking back back the #22 and receiving the #20 would do it for me.eyeteeth wrote:jcwkings wrote:afflalo, felton, #22 for derrick wiiliams

Afflalo+Felton+Mozgov for Williams and the #20
if you guys don't want felton.( I dont see why not, rubio could not be Nba ready and could use sometime to mature and develop) I think that is fair value for williams.

See now that's the kind of squad I am talking about.Latest rumors over on ESPN is that were going to keep the #2 pick and take either Williams(Which we would keep) or Irving if he drops to us and then either keep him or us him as trade bait along with Flynn. From most of the reports coming out now it looks like the Wolves want to keep Rubio,Love,Beasley,Johnson,Randolph and maybe even Webster which Kahn all listed by name when talking about whom Rubio will play with next season.
So just for the hell of it lets say we get Williams at #2 what then due we have left to trade besides Flynn,Darko,Pek...ect the scraps left over. Can any of that plus our number #20 pick land us a center like Bogut,Gortat or McGee ? Even if we can get lets say Bogut with that package what due we due with Love,Beasley,Johnson,Webster and then Williams.Their all pretty much three's and four's ? can Williams play the three ? would Beasley be willing to come off the bench ? Would Williams be willing to come off the bench ? can Johnson be a true SG when he's a natural SF ?
Just to many question in my book. But if were stuck with something like this I would probably role with a line up as such.
Rubio/Ridnour
Johnson/Ellington
Beasley/Williams
Love/Randolph
Bogut/Darko
That's a solid line up but I don't think it's enough for the playoffs, but heck all I am really expecting and wanting this season is some were from 32 to lets say 35 wins anyways, which isn't asking for much.

That Bucks trade is a blatant rip off. The Grizzlies don't need a slew of wings when they have guys that need minutes already in Mayo, Allen, and Battier if he is brought back. Not to mention their lottery pick from last year Henry.

Ellington is the only SG ... he is not very good. Can't win in NBA with out a starting caliber SG.
Draft williams ... take best deal for beas

well the rumor in the area is that the clippers really want derrick williams to play sf for clips.
if theyre willing to trade eric gordon and both parties agree, i think it's a win-win situation for both teams.

Yes, this would be a bingo ... I'd even give the 20 to get our 2012 pick back

#2, #20, flynn for eric gordon sounds good to me actually. we get the sg that really need. not only that, gordon can play defense and hit the 3 ball.

That´s not a real option. Clippers will never trade Eric Gordon nor Blake Griffin. Also, Eric Gordon a proved NBA elite SG is worth much more than Williams.
