The Minnesota Timberwolves’ complications in the NBA draft never seem to end.

After the Timberwolves agreed to send guard Jonny Flynn(notes) in a package to the Houston Rockets for Brad Miller(notes) and the 23rd pick on Thursday, the trade hit a snag on Friday when the Rockets’ team doctors raised issues with Flynn’s hip injury, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

To keep the deal from falling apart, Minnesota sent a 2012 second-round pick to the Rockets, league sources said. The issues wouldn’t have kept Flynn off the court, but did raise some concerns for the long-term. Whether Minnesota had been forthcoming with the information prior to the trade is unclear.

This is dirty post-trade leveraging by Morey. I would have stuck them with Mirotic and let them deal with a pissed off Miami, NJ, and Chicago.

Same. Wasn't a secret he had hip-surgery. He even came back and played.

**** that, tell Morey "guess what you dick, we just got Brad Miller's results back and it turns out he's an elderly broken down fatty, so here's a quarter, call somebody who cares"

except when Morey reached out to take the quarter I'd ball up my fist and decimate the bridge of his nose. Then while he was lying on the ground I'd bust out the Ravishing Rick Rude penis swag dance.

In fact hold the **** on up in here and excuse me a moment, I gotta go make a new avatar

Who cares? Its a second round pick and Jonny Flynn who had to go.

So if Morey's deal didn't go, then all the subsequent deals obviously wouldn't go. At that point, what defense do the other teams have, since they obviously liked their deal? Their just out of luck?

BTW, if we didn't get the Morey deal, I wouldn't have minded keeping our pick at 20 over in Europe. I think because of the upcoming lock-out, he had the most trade value anyway.

This is why Kahn needs to be careful with all the wheeling and dealing. All of it could have either fallen apart, or some team like this pulls a shady move and holds the deal hostage for more.

I think we got suckered on this. Devilz is right, Kahn should have told Morey to go screw. I think this has implications for other trades too, if this shades how other teams deal with us... Jeez.

If I recall correctly the Wolves acquired a 2012 second-rounder from Houston in the original deal, but could exercise it only if the pick fell between 31 and 40--a highly unlikely scenario. Perhaps the pick being sent to Houston is this one..

Regardless, I won't sweat about it too much. A small bump in the road. We move on.
