How much for Roy?

Let's assume the bidding process is simple. You bid a number, and pay that much per year for the remainder of that players contract. So Roy has 3 years + a team option left. How much would you pay per year for 3 years of Roy?

I would honestly stay away. He's going to be done very soon.

Yep. Especially in a season where there will be less rest time between games.

Depending on the price I would be all for bring in Brandon Roy as a sixth man and back up SG.But I am guessing he wouldn't want that role and would want to go to a contender right away.

Still I would give it a shot, even with how his career has turned out with his knees he was a stud for a few years and a broken down Brandon Roy is still better then a heathly Randy Foye.Still one of the worst choices made in Wolves history.

If the Wolves would even consider paying for a guy who will never get off the bench due to injuries, I'll do it for half of what Roy wants.

Nothing. Roy is done, there's no point in signing him to any kind of contract.

Negative dollars. I would Portland to keep Roy away from here.

$4-5 MAYBE. I'd really have to have him work out to see how bad his knees are. He's still clutch, a ball handler, good passer and is smart. He could be a good 6th man if he can move even decent.

Roy/Rubio doesn't work; it makes whichever guy not controlling the offense a liability imo

Roy/Ridnour might tho.

Roy/Miller played pretty well together. I think Roy/Rubio would be just fine if his knees let him play .

My bid would be so low, any team could top it.

But his knees won't let him play, that's the whole point. His efficiency took a nose dive last season, his defence got worse and he still had the nerve to complain about playing time.

Yeah, I'm getting that. I wasn't sure what to offer him a year, I'm still not. Gun to my head, I think he's worth $2.5 mil a year as a bench player. Before this thread I might have said $4-5 mil. I do think he's got some value off the bench though.

I agree, Roy/Rudio doesn't work. Rubio needs the ball, and Roy too. With Ridnour maybe, but...do you think Roy will accept a bench role? I doubt it...
PD: Hi all, I'm a Wolves fan, and now more with Rubio (spaniard). Sorry for my English, I'm practicing in forums like this.

Much rather get Haywood or Pryzbilla with our money. Then use Webster + Pekovic/Darko + Miller to get a veteran shooting guard.

Webster + Pekovic + Hayward for Hamilton.

Rubio/Ridnour
Hamilton/Ellington/Lee
Beasley/Johnson
Love/Williams/Randolph/Tolliver
Haywood/Darko or Pekovic

Trouble then is finding minutes. But I think that's a playoff contender 35-45 wins with lots of upside and still some long term flexibility considering the length of Hamilton, Tolliver, and Darko/Pekovic's deals. Good mix of offense and defense. Good mix of young and old.

You guys might shrug at the thought of Hamilton, but imo he's a nice compliment to Rubio, brings some veteran toughness, and his deal is only 1 and 3/4 more years.

Definitely agree with this. Not sure about Hamilton, though.

I'm still interested to see Johnson at the 2 subtracting Rambis and adding Adelman, Rubio, and some workouts with Kobe. I'd rather give him a chance, then maybe go for a vet at the deadline if necessary than spend money on guys like Roy and TMac.

Marc Stein: New Sota coach Rick Adelman, I'm told, would have level of interest in signing Roy after knee fears led to Wolves' Roy/R. Foye draft swap
