Biggest disappointment of 2011/2012 Season

Post#1 » by Ledeni » Sun Dec 4, 2011 1:29 pm

Everybody is hyped about new season, and most of us expect big improvement... but like in any other thing in life something always goes wrong... so in your opinion what will be wolfs biggest problem in 11/12 season ?

They're allowing centaurs in the league this year? I must've missed that when reviewing the new CBA details. Time to splice Darko!

I say injuries would be the most disappointing because we are really hoping to see how these new pieces (Rubio, DWill, Adelman, Lee) mix with "old" pieces (Darko, Tolly, Ridnour), healthier pieces (Webster) more in shape pieces (Love, Beas, Randolph), and hopefully improved pieces (Wes, Pek).

If we have multiple injuries, we will all be sitting here saying, "I wonder what we would look like if X and Y didn't get injured. They were really coming together before that... Etc."

Yeah, I don't like it. I instead answered it as what would be the biggest disappointment.

With young players, two new inserts getting big minutes, a new coaching system and no time to prepare, we start the season 4-13.

However, disappointment turns around mid-season, when we have a chaotic season with mid-pack results, which include some some shocking victories over some perrenial favorites.

I go with our SG position although I hope Wes can fill it.

The biggest disappointment will be.........

Darko. There, now I'm happy because I don't want Darko on the team anymore. :)

How can he be a disappointment when nobody has high expectations for him anyway?

I think alot of people will be disappointed with Rubio this year. Especially casual fans who just look at the boxscore and see him averaging 6 or 7 points a game. But he'll improve alot as the year goes on, with many highs and lows. A rookie.

Nobody said it would be a surprise. I will be incredibly disappointed when the Wolves pass up the chance to get a legit center and shove Darko's brutal play down our throats, costing the team wins.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Beasley under performing is a given.

I'm fairly confident in Love's determination and Rubio's talent.

I think Derrick Williams will be a major disappointment for a #2 pick, playing out of position at SF or behind Love and Tolly at PF (where he should be). He's just not that good: bad rebounder, worse defender and passer.

He shouldn't be behind Tolly. Come on.

Ricky Rubio...

Underperforming in Euroleague and expected to shine in the NBA. I mean isn't it the other way around? It will be a miracle if he proves everybody wrong.

So what do you think after first four games ? Did someone change his/her opinion ?

I have not watched all the games but it seems to me that Rubio is looking great, Wes is horrible, Love is a monster, Beasley is much worse, Darko is ok but he's not playing much, Derick Williams is ok but he have his up's and down's, JJ Barea is a great addition to this team, Luke is a decent back up guy, not a starter especially with Rubio on the team, Toliver and Lee show some good stuff when they played, AR is unpredictable you can't really say whether he is going to have good or bad game.

D-Will has proved me wrong, he never rebounded like that in college. Those rebounds he took last night, were MAN rebounds: high in traffic against opponents with better positions, just good stuff.

Wes Johnson is quickly becoming this years Jonny Flynn. I just hope Kahn doesn't hold on to him too long if his play continues. Ship him out while he still has the "former Top-5 pick" label attached to him and teams think that he still has some upside. We waited too long on Jonny and basically had to give him away

Other teams have scouts. And those scouts have eyes. And League Pass. Meaning, you can forget trading Wes for anything of value.
