Not to jynx it, but could Malcolm Lee be a huge draft steal?

And one we've actually kept no less (unlike Ty Lawson and mario chalmers.
I have little base this on, other than twitter feeds, and just the facts. He's an athletic Shooting Guard, 6-5 who can play defense (traits Adelman likes)

Yeah we could use a little luck - no very little about him other than potential NBA combo guard, kinda rough offensively (though vast improvement in past year), and above average defender. Certainly seems movitated and understands value in his defensive ability.

He's a very good athlete with quickness and hops, a good handle, a quick first step and has shown to be a very good defender. Definately a high ceiling guy. I think he just needs to improve his shot and shot selection and he'll be a quality combo guard in this league.

I'm waiting until I see him play in an actual NBA game before I comment on this. I'm not going judge him by a couple of scrimmages in practice.

If he can play good defense he can stick here for quite a while. I hope we can get him to sign a 3 or 4 year rookie contract with the last couple of years unguaranteed like the clips, rockets, spurs, kings have done the last few years.

This.
I like him, but let's not go overboard.

He'll get plenty of opportunities to prove himself under Adelman, that's for sure.

Everybody looks good in scrimmage, everybody is hopeful over second rounders. When game time starts lets see what happens, more often than not they disappear.

Something about UCLA makes me want to say yes, but I thought the same thing about Duke and Will Avery.

I'm pretty skeptical of putting faith in second round picks, although I did make an exception for Pekovic.

J2J and I are both rather high on Lee. He should have been a top 20 pick, and those UCLA combo guards have the best track record of beating expectations in the draft the last 20 years.
And for the record, Chalmers wasn't a steal he basically played defense on the other team's PG and stood in the corner shooting 3's. If Wade wasn't the SG he would have been awful playing PG.

So if he sucks we can blame you for jinxing him?

Malcolm Lee is popular here in socal.
I am not trying to compare anything or anyone, but who would've thought that Westbrook will be an offensive machine in the NBA. In UCLA, iirc, he only averaged around 12 points and 4 assist per game.
I'll wait till the end of season to see if Lee was a huge draft steal.

Howland players typically do better in the pros than they did in college. So history provides hope.

of course that is far more likely, just speculating because he seems to have the tools that we need and with Martell down will have an opportunity to prove himself.

this Barea signing could change things. He's short but he's not a PG...

Rubio
Barea
Ridnour
Love
Milicic
Lots of ball-movement there.
What is Barea then?
