Turnover had a deal on the trade board that I adjusted a bit. thoughts?
MIN GETS: Okafor + Rudy
MIN GIVES: Darko + Pekovic + Hayward + $4.3 mil in cap space
DAL GETS: Darko + Hayward + $0.6 mil in cap space
DAL GIVES: Rudy + Corey Brewer + Dominique Jones
NOH GETS: Pekovic + Corey Brewer + Dominique Jones + $3.8 mil cap space
NOH GIVES: Okafor
MIN: They pay for an adequate center, and see what they can get out of Rudy.
DAL: Gets a shot blocker and replaces a little depth at SG while saving lux money
NOH: Gets younger, cheaper, save money, fill roster, and Okafor probably doesn't want to stay after Paul leaves.

IMO, Okafor doesn't fit.

sounds decent actually.
like it for all 3, but the point of dallas dumping brewer/rudy is to get as much cap room as possible.

If we got Okafor I'd ideally like to keep Darko so we could have an 'elite' defense unit

Is Okafor even an upgrade over Darko or Pek? I know he was his first couple years in the league, but he has seemed on a downward trajectory the past few years, and his contract is $12.6 mil, $13.6 mil, and $14.6 mil over the next 3 years. No thanks.

Why not send Okafor to Portland for Gerald Wallace?

Yes, and it's not even close.
I think Shrink's deal is too good for the Wolves. I don't see the incentive for either Dallas (very minimal lux savings for Cuban) or NOH (getting three bad players for one good one).

The more big contracts roll in for centers (Kwame for $7 mil?!?) the more comfortable I get with Okafor's contract. He's better - my question is what speed the game will be played at, and whether he can mesh.
As for DAL not getting enough, I think they have plenty of motivation to try to defend their ring. I was reading DAL's three-page "We're just one back-up center away" thread, but it was Turnover that started the idea.
If you thought it needed to be better, we could always make it even sweeter, using Tolliver. For months, I've thought he would be a nice fit for a top contender who's over-the-lux, like the Mavs if they lost Tyson Chandler. He's cheap, big, will play center, great attitude, defends, and draws charges. And let me mention again: cheap size.

The problem is that Okafor contract expires after Love, Beasley and Randolph's. If the last two can turn around this year their contracts would be a lot better than have Okafor. Adelman would get some playing time with them before that trade.

Anyone else? I honestly only watch New Orleans play when the Wolves play them, and there is never really anything notable about his play that I can remember.
I used to have a pretty high opinion of him when he was with Charlotte, but then they gave up on him in a cost cutting move, and still became a better team making the playoffs the next year.
It seems like limiting Darko's offensive role, and you have a decent starting center at 1/3 the cost.
