LAL - MIN

Sasha Vujacic's $5,475,113 TPE expires on Friday:
LAL GETS: Tolliver $2,050,000
MIN GETS: Barnes $1,906,200
and
LAL GETS: Ridnour $3,680,000 + Ellington $1,154,040
MIN GETS: TPE + $3 mil cash
For LAL, Tolliver fits great. Again, he's a vet, cheap, size, can play center, but will accept any role, good clubhouse, plays defense and draws charges. He can help rest weary legs, and he's a 1 year deal to boot. Ellington replaces Barnes. Ridnour is a reasonably priced vet PG shooter. His ATO isn't a problem with other passers out there. He affordably slips into a back-up role if LAL brings in a star PG next year (hint hint).
MIN gets about $5 mil in cap space, Barnes, $3 mil in cash, less roster crowding, and a shameful feeling for helping the Lakers.

Barnes would make it 6 SF's on the roster - Beasley, Williams, Webster, Hayward, Johnson
Anyway to leave that part out?

they just got McRoberts who's very similar to Toliver. I'd try Pek for TPE.

If people believe Beasley has a bad attitude, what do they think of Barnes?

Barnes is just salary fodder, because LAL wouldn't want to pay him double to remain.
Do with him as you will.

I still don't get the reasoning behind the Tolliver for Barnes swap.

It was to be incentive for the Lakers for the other half (or at least the cash). However, if they've just signed Josh McRoberts, then I think the deal falls apart.
They may be willing to still give us some TPE for Ridnour and maybe some cash. They are short-staffed, so maybe they'd also do Ellington, but that would bite into the cash.

Tolly and Luke are both worth more than raw cap space we have no use for.
points for creativity though.
I think Dallas/Orlando would be a great fit for Tolliver if we could get an asset for him.

We might just have to put the trade on hold since I'm reading reports that the Lakers are trying to get Paul again. Hopefully this creates a bidding war with the Clippers.

I thought we could outbid the MLE for Crawford with it?
