Randolph LOST Weight???

Yesterday, Jerry Zgoda held a live chat with David Kahn. I found this interesting...
How does Anthony Randolph fit into the Wolves' future plans/interior rotation? With the logjam at the 4, is he physically able to play the 5?
Jerry Zgoda:
I do think one of the things ANthony will need to address in the next couple years is adding mass to his body. I don't expect Anthony to ever be what one would call thick but i do expect him to add strength and some size and I think that will allow him to be more versatile and play at least two positions. We'll work closely with Anthony at addressing that. He came back 6 pounds lighter, I think he spent a little too much time running and not enough time lifting. But we didn't have an opportunity to work with him and of course we will this summer.

Those six pounds lost might keep Randolph burried on Adelmans bench. Well, that and his lack of BBIQ.

Can't really say I'm surprised. I never really thought he was going to be able to play the 5 anyways.

If he'd added 20 lbs of muscle instead of losing 6, I disagree.

Yes.
If. But this is the same story every offseason.

I don't think the 6 pounds is a big deal. But I hope we can trade him while he still has the "potential" tag. I think he'd rather make Sportscenter or get 20 points than win the game, I'd rather see Darko.

So now hes like a buck 80 now? Sheesh dude get in the weight room. All that talent is a waste. If he was 235ish he would be like a prime Lamar Odom.

I'm not a dietician, but I thought he was more than capable of adding a few pounds of muscle during the offseason, so to lose 6 pounds makes me feel like he's going in the wrong direction. He might want to consider a chef like Love has. It's probably not cheap, but it helps when your trying to get your next contract.

I don't see how he could have not added some mass/muscle. If his body won't gain weight thats one thing, but that works better as an excuse for high school players, not NBA vets. He has been in the league for a few years and should be able to work with someone who helps him gain some weight.

this is like a 20lb swing from the story about him gaining 15lbs, granted there is one about him every season sayin gthat. he could have gained weight if he had done absolutely nothing. curl up on the couch with Oprah and Dr Phil and Ben & Jerry...

His metabolism may be very fast, I didn't gain weight until I was 24, I could eat like a fiend and nothing happened. He needs a dietician and a trainer working with him everyday...

Well, I can say that I'm not really surprised. I wonder how many pounds he had actually lost each off-season whenever he was said to have gained 20 pounds or something. Or how many inches he had grown.
