Who plays SG for the Blazers after that?

I'd do it in a second, but I doubt the other teams do it.

Crawford.

We have also memphis pick to sweeten the deal.

Id be willing to send that to the Blazers to get this deal done

Eeesh. I wouldn't want to be forced to play Crawful starter minutes.

You are underrating the guy. He's not awful.

Blazers get a good deal as it is imo. Varejao is very good defensive center. I think influences the game much more that a SG like Matthews. Blazers center position is dire. Camby is in his 40s and Oden is in his 60s.

Crawford, Batum, Crash, Elliot Williams, Nolan Smith and Chubby Felton can all fill in as 2guards as needed. its healthy bigmen they require with Camby going down now.

As a gunner off the bench perhaps.

They could easily start Crash and Batum, LMA and Felton should be able to carry the offensive workload.

They lack scorers who can create their offense. Crawford is a good fit in their starting line-up. His playmaking abilities also help because Felton is no Steve Nash.

Oh, I agree, but that would just be a huge upgrade for us. Throwing in another mid first round pick to get it done is fine by me since who knows if that pick will actually produce a good player and there might not even be a good sg prospect at that spot to pick

This is one of the more interesting trades I've seen on here in a while. I can't say that I've spent great amounts of time watching Mathews play defense, but I love him as another scoring option and he gives Adelman a player that he can give big minutes to every night. Adding another player who can score on their own would give the Wolves some insurance in the event they decide to not pay Beasley after the season.

Cavs get more young talent and move a contract, Blazers get a functional big man help in a year where teams can't wait to pay centers.....I like it.

Kind of seems like a lot to give up for Mathews but I guess it depends on how one values Johnson and Randolph. I'd do it just to balance out the roster and shore up the 2 spot. I still think johnson can be a good player, though.

I just finished typing a post saying I didn't want to make any more trades, but Mathews is the type of player I would consider "overpaying" slightly for. I'm not sure Johnson, Randolph and the Utah pick are overpaying but I would have no issue taking some excess players and combining them into a starter who actually can defend some at the 2.

Any interest in Willie Warren? He was cut by the Clips, I kinda like him.

We should pursue a veteran, not another young foward who ultimately belongs on a d-league roster, not a NBA team.
