Iggy to Minnesota

I remember reading an article involving how DC liked Wesley Johnson the year he was drafted.
So if this is true, and DC still likes Johnson, would a Wesley Johnson for Iggy trade be possible ?
Proposed deal...Wesley Johnson, Martel Webster and either Anthony Toliver or Anthony Randolph ?

Well iggy is in philadelphia not dc, but I am all for sending Johnson, Randolph, and pek fir iggy. I would add a pick even to seal the deal.
Darko - tolliver - love
Love - Williams
Beasley - Webster
Iggy - lee
Rubio - barea
That's damn near playoffs right there.

Yes, DC is Doug Collins. Doug Collins was very interested in Wesley Johnson after the pre draft work-out, comparing him to Scottie Pippen.
And sources say 70% of PHI fans want Iggy gone, so Turner gets burn.

The trade would probably have to be centered around Johnson, the rest is really up to debate. I want to see how the team plays, but Minnesota can fight for a playoff spot now with Iguodala.

I'll easily do Johnson + Darko/Pek/Webster + Utah 1st + (Mem 1st if needed) for Iggy. He is overpayed a bit but who else are we going to get in FA? No superstar will want to come here because the new trend is LA, NY, MIA, etc. and he helps us get to the playoffs easily.
I'd try to get Eric Gordon first but if the Hornets won't negotiate, go and get Iggy. He has everything that we're lacking in a 2 guard. We already have the scoring so all the talk that he can't score, I honestly don't care.

27 years old, stat sheet stuffer, established vet, rarely gets injured, can handle heavy minutes. Minnesota still maintains the ability to pursue other trades using other assets, or they can fight for a playoff spot with what they have.

I don't think we can make it work financially now that Love is looking like a max player.

I think if Wes gets his shooting stroke down and moves better without the ball he'll be good compliment to Rubio. I think from what I've seen I want as much of the offense as possible run through Rubio. Iggy is a bit too ball dominant to work well with a good passing PG.

oye vey... I feel just plain silly... apologies to the OP...
Anyways, yes, if wes puts it all together he is a great compliment to Rubio because of his shooting (and I agree that Iggy is ball dominant).. but what is the likelihood of that happening? Iggy would provide strong perimeter defense and another person capable of creating a shot.

I would trade Johnson, Pekovic, Webster, Randolph for Iguodala.
Rubio/Barea/Ridnour
Iguodala/Lee
Beasley/Williams/Iguodala
Love/Williams/Tolliver
Milicic/Love/Tolliver
Iguodala can do a little bit of everything, shores up one of our weak links (C being the other) and he can provide a steadying veteran presence.
I would also be fine following up with a trade based around Ridnour + Milicic + picks for an upgrade at Center.

Iguodala has a lot of skills we could use, but he's not perfect. For example, if Rubio is our PG of the future, it'd be nice to have on guard that can shopot three-pointers.
My biggest issue with Iguodala is that he's overpaid, averaging almost $15 mil/year for the next three years. I'm sorry, but he's not a #1, he doesn't have size, he plays a common swingman position, and he doesn't draw in fans. I understand that PHI fans would expect good assets for a guy that may be their most talented player, but it a big negative to take on that contract. I wouldn't even give Wes Johnson, and I'd prefer to see what he could become.

Wes, AR, Pek and Jazz pick. i think should do it.
We could afford Iggy. Love will be expensive and that's it. Nobody is throwing big money at Beasley with his baggage. Darko is cheap, Rubio is a rookie deal. So is Williams. Barea is a little too much money so I think will have to dump Luke. By the time we have to pay Rubio and Williams, Iggy will be off the books and I wouldn't want to keep him beyond his current deal because athletes like him don't age well.
As long as we have Love, Iggy's shooting won't be a problem. Plus having Iggy should make Love more eager to stay in 'sota.

Love, Iggy, Beasley is a lot of money.
Love, Johnson, Beasley is not.
Iggy makes basketball sense, but not financial sense. I would need something else coming back of value to pull the trigger for Johnson/good contract/expiring

I agree that he’s not a #1 guy, and I can live with that. Minnesota has no reason to trade for Deron Williams or Dwight Howard, and it’s safe to assume we won’t draft the next Kobe Bryant with Memphis’ draft pick. We can build a team around Iguodala, Williams, Love, and Rubio at the cost of two players who are debatable starters. I don’t want to use the Detroit Pistons as an example since the Detroit Pistons method is so overused on these forums, but it sounds realistic.
I disagree with the size comment. The guy was measured at 6'6.75”, he boasts a 6’11” wingspan, and has enough muscle to star in the next Expendables film.
As for the drawing fans comment, I want to note the guy played for Team USA, was awarded a spot on last years All-Defensive Second Team, and was 11th in the NBA in dunking, despite playing 67 games last year. He has much more fan appeal than Pekovic and Johnson will ever have.

I can't believe that some folks won't even give up Wes for Iggy. Wake up people! Johnson is not good now and he is not very likely to greatly improve. He's an overdrafted role player who's already 24. The guys best attribute is his smile

He's actually a good spot up shooter believe it or not. I saw the numbers on the 76er's board a year ago. Someone with synergy can look it up if they want.

I think a player with Rip Hamilton's game is more what we need at the SG position than a player like Iggy.

Johnson - 35.6 3P%
Iguodala - 33.7 3P%
Not a huge difference, especially since he took 100 fewer 3s than Johnson. Plus, it's not like our team would be lacking three-point shooters.

I don"t mind Iggy ... he and Lee would be a huge defensive improvement, but would really strap us down and leave us thin at center. Would need to keep Pek or sign another big right off the bat, but still, that $15 million salary would be tough on us. I do think Adelman is clearly very open to adding a solid defensive player.
Roll our lineup into a core of Rubio, JJB, Lee, Iggy, Beasley, Williams, Love, Darko? Can Darko play starter minutes? Miller gonna play this season?
