What does Wayne have to do to play like he played today?

What does the guy have to do to be able to bring in 10 points on a regular basis off the bench? What did he do today that was different from before? Was it simply hitting shots? Can he clean up his game? You think today was a freak occurrence? Opinions please.

I think the Wizards horrid defense helped him get open. He played smarter as in not passing on 3s to dribble in a couple steps to brick a long 2. All he has to do is shoot 3s. It's not a hard role to learn but somehow he still screws it up on most nights.

I'd be curious to see a stat of the wolves 3-point shooting percentage when Rubio is on and off the floor.

he needs to be banned from dribbling the ball. Well, he can dribble away from the basket, away from troubel, but never towards it. He needs to be a catch and shoot shooter because when he does drives to the basket or does that stupid two dribble fade away crap, he either misses it or turns the ball over.

Luckily, he didnt dribble today, and just caught the ball and shot it. Did fine on defense as well. Id be perfectly fine if it comes out later that Adleman banned ellington from dribbling

He shot roughly .400 from the 3 point line in his first two seasons, so I think his struggles earlier this season aren't too serious. He's great at catch and releasing, but not much else. We can't rely on him a first or second option, so if we want to make him more effective, the team needs to add some more offensive weapons to take the pressure off of him.

He needs to stop taking that extra dribble to get his shot off. He needs to play offense like Rip Hamilton or Ray Allen and not Rudy Gay or LeBron James

Get consistent minutes. I think starting led him to feel like he was going to get a chance and not force things so much to try to prove himself. I think for a lot of the team it's more mental than anything else. Wayne, AR, Darko, and Wes are all in that group to some degree IMO.

He did dribble once. I remember it because it was either the comedic moment of the game, or the smh moment of he game. He tried driving the lane and tripped over the free-throw line.

He did have one pretty good play in particular that made me wish we could see more of that (and not just from Wayne, but from anyone playing our wing positions). It was when he came off the baseline, caught the ball off a screen just outside the freethrow line and burried the jumper.

I kept thinking, "When has Wayne ever seemed this competent?"

Answer: when was the last time he got to play this many minutes with no sign of the hook coming and terrible team defense being played around him. I was pretty happy with his game, but lets see him do it against Chicago in two days.
