Time to make a move for Granger?
Some Indiana fans want to move him: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=1151239
Since he's started the year off so slowly, he may be more obtainable than ever.
We know Kahn has always liked him.
I would offer Wesley + Beasley for Granger, easily. I'd throw in Randolph or a one of the picks owed to us too.

If they'd move him for that, I'd probably do it.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Re: Time to make a move for Granger?
Wolves would still have the MLE and Williams to dangle in a trade.
MLE = JR Smith?
Williams + Darko + Miller for Bogut?
Rubio/Ridnour
Barea/Smith
Granger/Webster
Love/Tolliver/Randolph
Bogut/Pek

I've been keeping an eye on Granger as well. He's finally raised his FG% into the 30's, but I always look to see if he's helping the team out in other categories. He's #4 in the NBA in steals, gets a few blocks, hits the three, plays some defense .. he's not a bad player at 28. IND's love of Paul George may make Granger avaialble.
I don't think they'd have interest in Beasley. The locals are still staying away from the team because of the bad reputation that their players used to have as thugs, and Beasley's rep - true or not - makes him a bad fit. We may have to move him though to create the minutes for Granger, so you'd need to use Beasley in a three-way. They'd probably want to add talent to get Derrick Williams, to which I'd say no. I'd use most combinations of our other assets though. Granger is well-paid, but I'd take the deal.

I'd rather move Beas/Wes in a trade for an SG. Although, Granger would provide much needed consistency and veteran presence. Something I'd definitely consider but my desire to see what happens if Beas can find a place within the offense makes it a tough call.

How about going after George Hill?

Re: Time to make a move for Granger?
Everytime I see Granger he keeps taking horrible shots.
If we can pick him up for Beasley and a couple picks or so then I'm all for it.
We shouldn't make the mistake to trade away Williams for Granger, though. That's not going to end well.
I don't know why but I think we should also try to hold onto Wes Johnson. He has been garbage offensively but with Granger as wing he might get a lot more open shots due to opposing D's showing him less attention. But then again he hasn't shown he can convert on open jumpers this year.
My offer would be Beasley, Miller, Randolph and Utah or Memphis 1st for Granger. Pekovic can be subbed in for Miller if they want another contributor for their depth.
If that doesn't get it done then we should either search for a 3rd team or simply look for different options.
Selling the farm for an almost 29 y/o 3rd option (on a contender) isn't the right thing to do.

I've always liked George Hill, but on the Spurs he was a PG, and we already have those. I hear he plays more 2 now

Unfortunately, Beasley’s trade value is below dismal. The chances of getting a young veteran like Granger for that package (Beasley/Johnson) is slim to none.
And BTW, Slim’s out of town.

I dont think we have the pieces to get him without giving up on a core player (Love, D-will, Rubio).

the wolves full MLE was lost when we signed barea. we do have the 2.5 mil under the cap MLE to offer though. I think Smith signs on with a contender when his china season is over. not optimistic we'll be in that position.
Don't think the pacers move granger as long as they are in playoff contention. that ship sailed when big al blew out his knee. wish mchale would have traded Al for him immediately after we drafted Love.
Big NO to Bogut.

Re: Time to make a move for Granger?
Trade Board recently had posters give their team needs. With Beasley able to play SF or PF, he may fill the needs of one of these teams.

Maybe we could spin Beasley there for a piece that IND would be more excited about?

Charlotte: Long term starters at Sf and Center. Backup Sg. Need youth, are rebuilding. Have expirings and Portland's future pick, can't trade own pick.
Cleveland: Long term starters at Sg or Sf, and a starting Center. Basically a roster to go with Kyrie and Thompson. Isn't afraid to buy picks/talent by taking on bad salary.
NJ/Brooklyn: Dwight, and a Sf, but needs to maintain as much salary cap '12 space as they have.
New York Knicks: A starting Pg, a Sg (backup or starter) and a backup big (Pf/C). Have Fields and Douglas (assuming a pg comes back).
Phoenix: Go to scorer, starting Pf. Tradable players include Lopez, Frye, Childress.
Toronto: Young long term starters at Pg and Sf. Barbosa, and possibly a Pf from Amir/Davis/Bargs(?) could be moved.
Washington: Long term starters at Sg, Sf, and Pf to add to a Wall/McGee base.

I'd shy away from anybody over 26, we don't want our team to be on the downswing when Rubio comes time to extend.
