Who would you trade Love for?

Some of us don't want to pay Love the max, some are okay with the max but not for 5 years, others just plain dislike Love.
This thread is not to discuss how much money Love is worth or what type of player he is. There are other threads for that so please keep the comments focused on the following two questions:

Who are some specific players (not just "a young SG") you would target?
What are your ideas for getting your target (assuming it's not a straight up trade)?

I'll start with Noah as a player I would target.

An ideal trade to acquire him -

Wolves -
Love, Beasley, Randolph, Darko, Ridnour, Utah 1st for Noah, Nash, Morris

Bulls -
Noah for Gortat, Beasley

Suns -
Nash, Gortat, Morris for Love, Randolph, Darko, Ridnour, Utah 1st

Our core would be Rubio, Williams, Morris*, and Noah. This season we could continue our 3 pg rotation at the guards while upgrading Ridnour to Nash. Nash would be a great mentor to Rubio and would help us get a lot more wins. In the off season we buy out Webster and Miller for more cap space. After a good season and having a great young core+great coach we suddenly wouldn't look so bad as a free agent destination. Especially if we can resign Nash for a decent price.
*If my trade is homerish AR and Morris could be taken out and/or the Mem 1st added.

Wow, we get robbed in your trade.

How so? We get a top 5 center, a HOF pg/leader that still averages a double double, and Morris who is worth more than any player we sent out aside from Love.

More importantly - your target is..?

i dont think i would trade Love for anybody, just try to get him to stay.

i dont think nash could ever play the 2.

I don't like that trade either. Noah is good, but he's a player that I'd want to put by Love as he can't do much for offense.

Paul George and Hibbert would be something pretty interesting. We'd have to work a 3rd team in so that Indiana could flip West for a center most likely though.

Then why are you posting in this thread? It's obviously implied that you would want to trade Love to have a target.. If you don't want to or wouldn't even consider trading Love this thread has nothing to do with you.

Neither should Ridnour.. Rubio would obviously be covering the SG with Nash on the court.

^This response is not what this thread is about at all.

This is the type of response I want. It will lead to discussion on who the 3rd team might be or ideas about what other players could be involved to maximize our return. Thank you for reading the original post.

Like many of the kids today, I'd be pretty tempted to trade sweet, sweet, love for money. Times are tough, you know.

I'd consider trading him to Washington, New Jersey, or Detroit for a top 3 pick and cap space if the alternative option was to designate Love as our 5 year max player.

Derrick Favors + Burks + future first or take off protections on current pick.

Seriously though, the only trade I'd do is Harden+Ibaka.

I guess so.. but on the other hand, we would be trading for a guy who is averaging 7 points, 7 boards and a career low FG% who can't really create/play offense, a PG is his upper 30s who is unlikely to stay, and a decent young prospect who barely made the lottery pick cutoff.

In terms of value, I'd trade Love for anyone above him on this list, and not for anyone below: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1152329 (exclude Wade from above, as well). In terms of players to target, maybe Gordon, George, Granger, Bogut, but I dunno if I'm willing to part with Love in a package for those guys.

I think signing Adelman to a 4 year $20M contract, or whatever it was, pretty much closes any possibility of Love being traded. I can't see that happening, for better or for worse.

8!!! That's nuts. Love is now the most overrated player on real gm IMO.

And I said there are other threads to discuss those things in. I even had a please thrown in there for F's sake.

Oh I know.

Assuming this would happen at the deadline I would think adding Love to those teams would most likely drop them out of the race for a top 3 pick. Ok maybe not Washington but Pistons with a Love/Monroe frontcourt would be decent and so would the Nets with Williams, Love, and eventually Lopez together.

They would have to trade Milsap to make room for Love but that seems like great value for us. It'd be nice if we could we get them to lower the restrictions on the pick we already own so we could get it this year. *I see you added that while I was typing.

No, after the lottery. Pick would have to be guaranteed top 3.

Before last season (before Love "blew up") I advocated for this trade, and I would still have to consider it. This would be one of the very few Love trades I would consider.

Would we resign him then trade him? I guess my question should be can we trade him after the season but before the draft? I thought that was kind of a limbo period but maybe him being a rfa changes that.

Yeah it's kind of funny that both he and Harden have exceeded expectations in that time so it is still a valid idea. It doesn't seem like that would happen often.
