Ridnour to WAS?

This team needs more structured leadership at PG. That has a lot to do with why the offense falls apart. Wall isn't getting traded so we need to bring in a back up PG with experience who plays a structured game. Would be great if they had some 3 range as well.
Anyone out there ?
Luke Ridnour fits that bill. Good structure, very good outside shooter, reasonable contract for a back-up, and MIN may be willing to trade him too, since Barea can mentor Rubio.
Agreed. Luke Ridnour is a guy I'd be interested in if the price is right. He's got a fairly hefty contract for his ability, so I don't think it would take that much to get him. But he's better than hot garbage so I don't thik Minnesota would just give him away for nothing either. Crawford plus a 2nd rounder seems about right. Might have to include Seraphin or Mason to make the salaries match.

Johnson has been labeled a "bust" by a lot of people but I think he can easily turn it around. I remember loving him at Syracuse and thinking he was going to be a good player. Ridnour is the steady hand we need behind Wall who can also shoot. Turiaf brings what he was suppose to bring here in Washington and Young is the starting two-guard the Timberwolves need. I don't know if draft picks, or cash, or whatever needs to be swapped one way or the other but I think it is a good premise. Thoughts?

Shrug. I'm not that thrilled by what the Bullets have to offer. Young might be okay, if he would allow Rubio to set him up for easy shots.

I might be interested in Seraphin. Other than that there's no player on the entire Wizards roster I would think about acquiring right now.

I like Turiaf but didn't Nick Young just take the QO? How much was he asking for that no team was willing to pay?

Rumours were that he wanted around 9 million per year.

Seriously? He is just as dumb as Ryan Hollins.

I'd probably do either of these deals.

I believe this gives him the right to refuse the trade, since he'd be giving up his Bird Rights, correct? Then again, it'd be a chance to get out of WAS.
It sounds like the guy they really want to dump is Andray Blatche. Any chance for a reclamation project, or is he done?
6,442,083 7,118,502 7,794,920 8,471,339 = about $30 mil.

Turiaf is about the only guy on that team I'd be interested in. Young maybe at about half of what he wants. I'd rather try to go after a big fish SG, though.

I wouldn't mind taking a look at Crawford, but I'd prefer just dumping Luke for capspace.

I thought I read something like that about Young on the trade board but was not sure.
As for Blatche he would need to be a guy that Adelman would want to play otherwise it would be a lot of wasted money sitting on the bench. Blatche wants to play in the post so that would be a big plus for this team. I would want Darko involved in the trade because of his contract. I guess it all depends on Adelman.

Only Bullets player I'd like is McGee. Turiaf is not worth Luke.

Turiaf, Crawford and a 2nd would be good enough for me, when Barea and Lee are healthy again.

Whats the deal with Crawford? Seems like a volume/low pct shooter. Do we see an upside?
I do like Turiaf for our team. He could start and help us immediately. He would be a great solution for this year. Hopefully we fill our SG need with Mayo/Martin.

I'm kind of meh on this trade, but it's nice to see how many of the Wizards best posters agree with the fit:
LyricalRico wrote:Definitely like the Ridnour+Johnson idea, although I'm not sure we could come up with enough value for that package. I am also intrigued by Thompson. Problem is that trading for him is going to take minutes from Vesely. As for the Celtics trade ideas, I don't think they trade for Blatche because of the contract.
But if we combined all of them...
Wiz trade: Blatche+Crawford+Mack
Wiz receive: Garcia+Ridnour
Kings trade: Garcia+Thompson
Kings receive: Blatche
Wolves trade: Ridnour+Johnson
Wolves receive: JO+Mack+BOS 1st
Celtics trade: JO+1st
Celtics receive: Thompson+Crawford+Johnson
We get reliable veteran backups, Sacto gets a possible upgrade at PF and a contract that is in line with others on their cap, Minny shaves cap and gets a first, and Boston adds a number of young players.

This seems like selling pretty low. If everyone were healthy I'd still think it was a tad bit low.

When were at full strength, Luke realistically shouldn't get more than 15 minutes a game. And Wes is a mere throw in at this point. However, Ronnie Turiaf is terrible. His "toughness" is his ability to keep coming to collect a check even though he's never earned it. The guy is made of glass....if he's on a one year deal, which I thought he was...that's fine...but we'd have to dump Darko on them as well. If we can trim up Wes, Luke, and Darko while taking as little $ as possible back....we'd be better this year simply based on the fact that only one of those guys has produced anything, at all. And then we'd potentially have a nice chunk of change to throw at one more guy this summer to help shore up our perimeter defficiencies. All that being said, Washington isn't really an ideal trade partner because they don't really have a ton of talent.

Agreed, but that Boston pick is a lotto pick right now. If they continue to struggle then that could become a really good pick, depending on the protections.

Boston isn't stupid. They wouldn't give up an unprotected pick for that return.
