Ill try this here first then since it got loccked in the Trades forum. So that means either these are really bad or I am doing this wrong. Please tell me which, so I know what to do in the future.
Minny & PHX
PHX trades:
Gortat and PHX 1st
MN trades:
Williams, Wes, MEM 1st, Utah 1st
Minny & BOS
BOS trades:
Allen and Daniels/Peitrus
MN trades:
Beasley and Miller/Pek
These doable, beneficial to both teams?

They sometimes lock threads when there isn't an explanation to the reason behind the trade.

Let me say something that will surprise most fans.
Gortat isn't worth that much.
What?!? Shrink - he's a good center ... and he's CHEAP! Has Mark Cuban's goon squad finally caught up to you?
Gortat's contract is dramatically under market
2011-21 $6,790,640
2012-13 $7,258,960
2013-14 $7,727,280 ETO
However, while this is a three-year deal, in 2013-14, at $7.7 mil for his ETO, he'll clearly turn that down, since it's far below market value.
OK, so it's still a 2-year deal right? Sort of.
Next summer, Gortat gains the leverage to say that he won't extend in MIN. "Trade me or lose me for nothing!" he could demand. Moreover, that low contract increases his leverage, because it decreases the likelyhood that he's risking a lot of money. He wants to get off that contract as soon as possible, and get fair market value in free agency.
I'm not saying I wouldn't want to get Gortat. At that price and skill-level, he could certainly help here for the rest of this season, and maybe the next. However, I wouldn't use Derrick Williams in the package to get him.
In this specific trade, I also think it's unlikely PHX would risk giving up it's lottery pick as well, especially with Gortat going out.

I think this trade is very interesting, though it's still hard for me to wrap my head around Danny Ainge suggesting that BOS is dismantling. Even at 53 years old, Ray Allen is tremendous SG, and he'd help the team. I'm not a big fan of paying players for their coaching ability (leave that to coaches), but I think if he wanted to be here, he'd have a positive effect on our players. If BOS was planning on re-signing Beasley, this might work for them as well.
Two very strong trades for your first post. Nice job WetWildandWeird, and welcome to the boards.

Thank you thats good to know. I guess I will explain myself.
PHX: This is if they decide to blow up the team. Gortat wont be key in any rebuild, and this way they can get franchise talent and a role player plus 2 first round picks. Slug it out for a year and grab Williams partner to go along with him in '13. Pretty decent rebuild.
BOS: Again if they want to try and rebuild. Allen is a 36 year old 10 mil contract. I dont think hes gonna get any super young talent that doesnt come with baggage. Then they can choose between Pek, a young center with some potential, or Millers expiring. Beasely might thrive with KG, PP, and Doc hounding him.
MN: We get our Center for the future to pair with Love and Rubio. Allen gives us the Vet experience we need to start building that winning mentality. The pick we can draft Allens successor in Beal or Lamb. This also guts some cap space for a future SF like Batum or Chandler. Pietrus and Daniels would be bodies to fill in at the SF position and are expirings, I would prefer Pietrus but would take Daniels if they wont move him.

Everything shrink said. How confident are you that we can re-sign him in the future, and how much would it cost to re-sign one of the best free agent centers on the market? I'm mixed.
As for Phoenix, they need to consider pressing the reset button. There's no guarantee Nash will re-sign and they're not contenders. With that said, Phoenix wouldn't trade their first round pick since they have the 10th worst record in the West, and this trade leads them a step closer to rebuilding.

I will disagree with you there, his stats and play show he might be one of the most underrated centers in the league. He is getting a 22.3 PER with a .167 W/S, to go along with his 17/11/2 and TS% of ~61. His usage percent is low so he would be effiecient and effective along with the lineup weve built. These are consistant with his numbers in the past. He also has very few years logged on his legs and basically no injury history.
As for his contract, it is a worry but it would be pretty much the same for every other decent center we want to get. Okafor, Bogut what have you will start at around 14 mil. He has also tweeted twice now that he was getting traded to MN without any word from anywhere which makes me assume he might enjoy the idea of playing here.
I like DWill a lot and it really would pain me to see him go but from what Ive seen he wont play the 3 and to get a future 2 and 5 would be amazing. I also believe that if Williams breaks out he could easily demand the Max which we wouldnt have the ability to pay. I would rather role with 2 superstars, 3 high performing role players and a bench than 3 superstars and what ever else you can afford.

I agree Gortat is a good player, but to me, 7 years of Derrick Williams > 1.5 year of Gortat.

I was thinking this the case, it would probably be a little hard to swallow giving up their pick. The only rational I could see is that Williams is most likely going to be better than most in this draft as well. Thats basically moving up in the draft this year while getting Wes and 2 first rounders for Gortat. If we were looking to do Gortat and the 13th last year this would be just a tweek on that concept for basically Gortat and the 6-11 pick but they get a bunch of other stuff instead of just Williams.
Plus I wouldnt be able to send a talent like Williams away for just Gortat or the pick

I dont think thats fair. It would be 3 years of Rookie scale Williams + 4 years Williams near max. Is that greater than 1.5 of Gortat at ~7 mil then Gortat at 10-13 mil for ~ 4 years plus a SG at rookie scale?
My belief is that he is going to be too expensive for a piece that doesnt fit perfectly. This new cap system is going to make you really have to pick players that fit the theme of your team. So we should build around Love and Rubio.
Once Williams gets off his rookie deal I feel we might end up hamstrung like the Knicks with 3 big contracts for 3 players not at the caliber of Wade of Lebron

No to the first trade.
Yes to the second trade.

Utah: I'd take on Harris if we could land Favors in the process ... I'd love to build him into this team alongside Love and the Rube. I think Harris would do fine in the 2 guard offense. We could declutter some and sustain athleticism if we were to move Williams in the deal. Favors >> Milicic by far, but a player that could develop long-term.
Williams/Ridnour/Webster or Johnson :: Favors/Harris
Lots of different opinions on the long-term NBA success of both Favors and Williams

I think that first trade is an interesting one and one I would probably do. I think the Wolves are overpaying a little bit with a hope that the Phoenix pick is fully unprotected and that we are hoping to resign Gortat. Giving up two firsts, and two top-4 picks is a steep price but one I would really consider. My personal dream is to move up to a draft position that would allow us to take Anthony Davis from Kentucky, but adding a SG via the draft may help as well.
The second trade doesn't do much for me. I don't want to trade anything for aging vets. Allen is a massive upgrade for us at the 2, but not worth acquiring this year. As much fun as it's been watching the Wolves' improved play, we are still in the rebuilding process. Don't give away assets with a hope of squeezing into the playoffs for one rental season.

I am not a supporter of most of the Williams for Gortat scenarios floating around, but I would actually say yes to this one because of the lottery pick Phoenix would be including. At this point, it looks like it would be more valuable than the Wolves pick that is going to NO... especially if they traded Gortat mid-season.
Gortat and a top 10 pick in the 2012 draft??? Sign me up!
Wes plus the two late first rounders that we may not even get? Who cares.

Such a big Gortat fan, he moves so well for a big man, clearly would work with Rubio, and we'd have the best rebounding frontcourt in the league. The swapping of picks is a little unnecessary and I'm sure the Suns wouldn't want to trade their pick while they're rebuilding and just traded away their second best player. Something centering around Williams and Wes would be nice though, season to taste with 1st rd picks/secondary players.
