HartfordWhalers wrote: My version of the OP trade would look something like:
CHI IN: Howard, Hedo, Darko (33.9m salary)
CHI OUT: Noah, Deng, Korver, Asik, Chl pick, Chi pick (31.2m salary)
ORL IN: Miller (expiring), Webster (expiring), Korver(expiring), Derrick Williams, Wes Johnson, Asik, Randolph (28.4m salary)
ORL OUT: Howard, Hedo, Redick (35.9 m salary)
MIN IN: Noah, Deng, Redick (31.1m salary)
MIN OUT: Webster, Darko, Miller, D Williams, Wes Johnson, Randolph, Mem and Utah picks (26.3m salary)
Chicago:
Rose
Rip
Hedo
Boozer
Howard
Gets Howard at a steep price.
Orlando:
Gets 4 1sts, Williams, Asik and Wes, all while moving Hedo, shaving serious salary, and taking nothing but prospects or (almost) expirings. Who cares about the depth chart, value is there for a rebuilding package
Minnesota lineup:
Rubio
Redick
Deng
Love
Noah
Probably overpays, but gets really good really quick. Loses 3 roster bodies, although that counts injured Miller and oft inured Webster. Maybe its not so bad. Williams and Darko + for Noah. Wes + Miller + Webster + 1st for Deng. 1st for Redick and to make sure the first two happen.
EDIT: I'm simply going to replace my trade with this one, that I think works better for all involved:

Chicago gets a steal.
Rubio/Barea/Ridnour
Ellington/Lee
Deng/Beasley
Love/Beasley/Tolliver
Noah/Pekovic/Milicic
I really like that line-up minus SG. Hopefully that can be addressed through the Utah pick? Maybe John Jenkins or if someone drops.

Maybe add Darko instead of Webster? (they make about the same)
Reasoning: We don't need 3Cs and we get to keep our SG
If Webster was in for value reasons and not Salary, perhaps we can throw in the Utah first.
Overall, I'd be all over this deal:
Rubio
Webster
Deng
Love
Noah
and Beasley, Barea, Pekovic coming off the bench? Yes please!
I think Chicago might be doing too well though. The downgrade from Turkoglu to Deng (similar salary, similar production, similar position) is not enough to pay for the upgrade from Noah to Howard. The GSW 1st won't get it done either, IMO.

I agree. Maybe send Asik to ORL, and they take back a vet like Q-Rich?
And where would Darko pout less? Back in Orlando, or in Chi, back behind Dwight? At least he would get more back-up minutes with them sending out Noah and Asik.
Finally, I haven't checked MIN's salary going forward, but Noah and Deng make about $25 mil.

Darko instead of Webster, and Chicago would have to send asik and take jrich most likely.

Darko over Webster, I'd definitely be on board. Without it I see SG still being an issue.
Wonder about Chicago though as I think they value Noah so much that they wouldn't want to include him even if it's for Howard.

I would do it but I don't think Chicago trades two GREAT defensive frontcourt players and the warriors' pick, even if they should. It's hard for teams to gut themselves when they're already so close to a championship.
My only question, if Chicago would make the deal, would Orlando choose Williams, cap relief and a mid-1st instead of Deng/Noah?
The other thing to consider is Beasley. Maybe it's just because he carried us last game so I'm feeling some love for the guy but are we ready to write him off? If we aquire Deng and Noah, Beas is gone, probably this summer. Deng can really only play SF (as opposed to someone like Batum who could swing between SF and SG) so Beas would be w/o a position and Deng makes 40m over 3yrs and Noah makes 60 over 5, I can't see us paying those salaries and then paying Beas above the MLE which is the minimum it will take to keep him I think.

I agree with everyone that said Darko in place of Webster.
Rubio/JJ
Webster/JJ/Lee
Deng/Beasley
Love/Beasley
Noah/Pek
Yes please.
I haven't been keeping close tabs on the Dwight situation because I've always thought he was a complete douche (ppl are finally catching on) but I thought the Magic wanted vets in return?
Wouldn't they love to get former Gator Noah?

Trade checker is pissed because it isn't March 1st.
Chicago $31.17
Noah $12.0
Deng $12.32
Korver $5.00
Asik $1.85
Orlando $31.54
Howard 18.09
Turk $11.01
Qrich $2.44
Minnesota $21.03
Darko $4.77
Miller $4.75
Williams $4.6
Wes $4.0
AR $2.91
Chicago would have to send someone like Korver ($5 mil expiring) to Orlando for Qrich ($2.44 mil) to make all the numbers work. Assuming ASik to Orlando and Darko to Chicago. Then it's good after March 1st.

The newer trade with Redick coming here is great

i am drooling for that lineup...
Noah (30) - Pek (14) - Love (4)
Love (32) - Beasley (16) - Tolliver
Deng (32) - Beasley (16)
Webster (28) - Ellington (16) - Lee (4)
Rubio (36) - JJ (12)
We could still send out Ridnour to sweeten the pot a bit if needed.
Other then Love, all players in the starting lineup are plus defenders and we keep Beasley as a super 6th man.
lets do this!!!

What happened to Reddick?

I prefer to make a trade with ORL and LAC, to try to get to D. Jordan.

Shrink edited the first post. It originally didn't have Reddick going to the Wolves.

No way in hell is Noah+Deng a reasonable haul for Derrick Williams.
If Orlando didn't want them in return for Howard, Chicago could find a crapton better three-way than that.

Wow, these are all really fun, but I really think Orlando would want Noah going back to them. He's the second best player in the trade by far, and you just don't give up DH and not get back the next best player in the trade.

Noah is vastly overrated on this board. Williams + Webster for Iggy makes us better than this trade does IMO.

I like Deng a lot, but this trade fails IMHO because:
1. Noah is overrated
2. Minny would be giving WAY too much (specially Webster+D.Will) for only 1 great player (Reddick is no championship caliber player and has no D)
3. Orlando is raped
4. Wolves would have a weak rotation overall
5. Still no championship caliber C in a deep and competitive "paint" conference
6. The starting line-up Wolves would end up having wouldn't be much better than the current
.

I think there may be something here.
If Dwight wants to go to CHI, these are the pieces CHI needs to give up (while swallowing turkoglu), and ORL isn't going to want expensive contracts like Deng or maybe even Noah .. prefering Asik. MIN is in a different situation, and may be willing to take on salary on young players if they can help us win.
There is tremendous trade value generated when a superstar demands a trade - he is worth less to the original team, and a fortune to the new one. I like how Kahn has gotten in on these superstar deals (Beasley and AR) to pluck some value for the wolves. This may be another good opportunity, if we can find the right price.
