MIN/BOS/OKC/ATL

Post#1 » by the_bruce » Sun Feb 5, 2012 1:25 am

I posted this in the trade board, but didn't get any wolves posters input. I like it fit wise for the wolves and it clears some cap space next season. I think it's fairly close for all teams too.

MIN OUT: Darko, Ridnour, MEM or Utah pick
MIN IN: Kirk, Aldrich, Bradley

BOS OUT: Bradley, JO
BOS IN: Darko, Ridnour

ATL OUT: Kirk
ATL IN: JO + tpe

OKC OUT: aldrich
OKC IN: MEM or Utah pick + tpe

Why for OKC?
Cole hasn't gotten much burn and swapping him out for a future pick might be appealing. They get a TPE and a pick. Could sub in a player like tolliver, ellington, etc if preferred

why for ATL?
With horford still out they trade Kirk's expiring for JO's. I think the tpe also gets them out of the lux? Saving them 6m so maybe a bit more could be added to the pot.

Why for BOS?
They exchange two role players on expiring contracts for two slightly better role players with longer contracts. Darko is hit and miss from night to night sometimes looking great other days a basket case, but he's still better than JO. Ridnour is a shooter and might be a solid pairing with rondo because of it, where rondo covers up some of luke's defensive liabilities.

Why for mn?
I'm not sure how this trade effects the wolves. Ridnour is an acceptable backup for ~4m a year, important to the team this year, and is a slightly better shooter than Kirk, but MN doesn't really need 2 backup PG's at 4m per season in barea and ridnour. Kirk was once a really good defender at both pg/sg and isn't a bad shooter by any stretch of the imagination and he's versatile so he can play with Barea, Rubio, webster, and ellington. Bradley is a throw in to make salaries work, but I think he was touted as a good defender and spot up shooter coming out of college. This trade also gets klove a complimentary player in Cole Aldrich, plus he's a local hometown guy.

I think Boston likes Bradley a lot.
