Love or Rubio?

Hypothetically, let's say OKC calls and offers us Kevin Durant for a package, and gives us the option of adding either Love or Rubio for him.

Who do you keep?

I'm choosing Rubio for the simple fact of the roster already in place on this team. Our backups at the PF spot are much better than what we have to replace Rubio at PG.

Rubio.

We have #2 overall pick Derrick Williams at backup PF.

We have Luke F'n Ridnour at backup PG.

That alone makes it a very easy choice.

I love Love, but I'd still go with Rubio. He's such a rare talent.

I look at it like this: we want to murder all the other teams and all our players are bullets but we didn't have a gun until Rubio, now we have the potential to kill teams. But Love is a special bullet, a SILVER bullet. Granted, before Rubio he was useless because he didn't have the right tool to bring out his potential. Now in theory Rubio is more useful than Love b/c Rubio on his own w/o a silver bullet could kill run of the mill teams while Love on his own can't kill anything, but when you get to the games that matter, Rubio needs Love to kill WEREWOLVES! (Playoff teams = Werewolves)

Honestly if it were Durant, I'd give em both. That is not a joke. We have two special players, but Durant is modern day Larry Bird. Once in a generation talent.

But between the two I'd rather have Rubio as well, but only for his potential to make others better. I feel like tonight we don't win that game with Love in and Rubio out. Love is the better talent right now, but Rubio has the potential to be just as special.
