CHA/MIN

Post#1 » by cpfsf » Tue Feb 14, 2012 1:00 am

Old proposal (highlight the text to read it)
MIN IN: Maggette Diaw Henderson
CHA IN: Webster Miller Williams Randolph

New proposal 1A
MIN IN: Diop Diaw Henderson $3 million (assuming this CBA allows the team to accept $3 million in cash)
CHA IN: Webster Miller Williams

2012/13 salary (with help from an old shrink post)
848,000 Miller
600,000 Webster
4,809,840 Williams
=6,257,840

2012/13 salary
7,372,200 Diop
3,101,326 Henderson
=10,473,526

Charlotte has the worst record in the NBA, so they don’t have much of an incentive to continue carrying big contracts. The Bobcats have two “bad” contracts in Diop and Maggette. Minnesota takes Diop, so the Bobcats can amnesty Maggette which effectively cleans their cap space. Furthermore, Derrick Williams is an up and coming rookie who isn’t do for a contract extension as soon as Henderson.

Minnesota really needs to upgrade their backcourt, and these players will benefit playing with a true point guard in Rubio and a team that has a more established offense. The team gains a lot of versatility depth which might just be what the team needs to get a playoff spot. Minnesota gets 3 million because the incoming players cost more.

New proposal 1B
MIN IN: Henderson
CHA IN: Williams

I wouldn't mind Henderson, but Maggette? No thank you.

Horrible deal. Williams isn't worth dumping for any of those guys, even if GH fits on this team. We take on Maggs without a pick coming our way? No thanks.

That makes sense to me.
Not sure what Charlotte fans would think, but the value seems right.

I thought of a trade similar to this, but I assumed Bobcat fans would still have a bayno for Biyombo.

MJ has taken a personal interest in Henderson so I doubt he gets traded.

MN
Williams/Beasley/Ellington
for
Biyombo/Beaubois/Marion

DAL
Beaubois/Marion/Haywood
for
Beasley/Diaw/Ellington

CHA
Biyombo/Diaw
for
Williams/Haywood

Dallas gets ready for Williams and Dwight this summer. Charlotte gets a potential number one option in Williams at the price of taking on Haywood. We balance our roster with 2 young defensive players and 1 old one.

Even if MN wanted to make a deal, knowing Charlotte has the best shot to land Anthony Davis (PF), why would they make a trade now for Williams??? If they're interested in Williams, they would almost certainly wait until they determine their draft position this offseason.

i dont like this for us. i really like how pek has played and believe he has potential to be our starting center long term, even if biyombo is an attractive peice. we dont need beaubois, and marion would just be temporary.

i wouldnt mind getting them 3, but not when we are giving up our 2 biggest trade assests and not even getting a sg in return

Pek could remain the starting center with Biyombo backing him up. If Biyombo can develop a jump shot he could also back up Love and play alongside Pek just fine.

Beaubois would be the sg we get in return. He has an inch on Eric Gordon on his standing reach and wingspan. 7 inches more wingspan than Ellis.
