Will The Timberwolves Make The Playoffs?

Post#1 » by weasel » Thu Feb 23, 2012 4:52 pm

At first I thought about making this poll with 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% options to vote on, but I figured most people would pick the 50% option, so now its set up to be a more difficult choice. Yes or No.

So, right now, what is your opinion? Will we make the playoffs or not?

I'm going with yes. We have a .583 win percentage since Rubio was put in the starting lineup, and I think as the team gets mor familiar with each other and with Adelmans system that we could play closer to a .600 win percentage.

I think they are going to hover right around .500 the rest of the season and just miss the playoffs. I hope I'm wrong, though.

Complicated... If I had to put my money in, I would say we don´t. Other teams are stronger IMO. If we get a couple of pieces (i.e: a very good SG and a decent PF/C backup -one of them being a veteran leader), then I would change to yes.

We are barely going to miss the playoffs (even though I voted yes) and Utah is going to barely miss the playoffs as well.

Think we'll finish just over .500 at about 34-32 and wind up 1 game out. That's assuming that no significant moves are made.

I'm on board with most here. We just don't have the depth needed to make it right now. We need an infusion of functional players at the 2 and 3 to get over the hump.

I have to believe at least one deal gets made before the deadline, but I'm not convinced that it will necessarily impact our W-L this year but rather position us for the off-season.

I guess a lot depends on how they'll play after the All Star break. The schedule is really tough and if they can't reload their tanks, we might be in for a setback.

Honestly, I think they'll end up with a record slightly below the .500 mark. Unless, of course, they find some energy or get an upgrade on the wings.

The month of March will tell us everything we need to know about who's looking playoff ready.

April will just be the icing on the seeding cake.

I don't think we'll make it this season, even though we've been playing spectacular basketball compared to last season. We'll have a chance next season, though, especially if we pick up a spot up shooter from three.

Yup, it's hard to say. It all depends on what the team does before the trade deadline. If they don't make any moves to improve, I'd say they probably just miss the playoffs, but that could change if they make a move or two.

mmm maybe, if we can make the right trade before the deadline we are playoffs material. Right now it depends on injuries and the level of tiredness of our big three (Love-Ricky-Peck).

If we can get 25/25 or 26/26 at the end of March, YES, of course, we could play the PO's.

The Wolves have exceeded my expectations, but I don't think you can ask a young team to keep going at this pace for much longer.

We'll need to trade for a wing to have a shot. Right now I'd say we have no shot.

As much as I want our team to make the playoffs seems that the current roster it's not enough to make it. I think we need some trades.

Anyway no team has defeated us with a huge huge superiority so... who knows?... this team amazes me every day they play. I don't really know what expect from them.

I don't see it. With our current wing play and our mental toughness, I don't think we have what it takes to be a playoff team in the west. We are getting there but unless something major changes, we don't got it yet.
