Just wanted to throw something out there after seeing another Gasol to Minnesota possible rumor (a lot worse of an idea now because of how Pek is playing) and wanted a different williams trade thrown out there.

Minnesota Out: Williams, Webster, Johnson, Memphis or Utah 1st

Sacramento Out: Evans, Salmons, 2012 1st (top 1 protected, unprotected 2013)

Why for us? Gives us a roster of Rubio/Evans/Salmons/Love/Pek with Barea/Ridnour/Beasley/Tolliver/Darko on the bench this year. I'm guessing Sacramento's pick would be between 4-7, that would give us an opportunity to grab either Kidd-Gilchrist or Barnes maybe in the draft. Plus Evans would provide some wing scoring that we need... though we would have to pay Salmons.

Why for Sacramento? Pairing D. Will with Cousins gives them an amazing future front-court. Evans currently is playing SF which isn't ideal. With Thorton, Jimmer, and Isaiah Thomas playing well there isn't a ton of guard minutes. I think Johnson would fit in better there then he does here and would compliment Thorton on the wing. Plus they get rid of Salmons

No way the Kings give up one of their stars for two unproven players and one who is consistantly injured, as well as swapping low and high draft picks. Perhaps we should go after Thornton, but I'm not sure on that either.

not really a good trade for us imo....tyreke isn't really a good fit in the back court with rubes

He'd be put in the same situation here as he is in there, the ball in the hands of a real PG. I do agree he needs a new home though, same with Wes.

Honestly, I would take Evans without thinking twice before we can't get value for Williams anymore.

Salmons is awful. I'd much rather have Garcia if I had to take a bad contract from the Kings.

Williams probably does need to be traded, but not any time soon. Even with limited minutes he will continue to improve his NBA game, and will be more and more sought after. His value will do nothing but increase for the next two years.

This is definitely not true. I would actually say his value has already taken a huge hit compared to his draft day value.

People aren't just looking to give away lottery picks, and certainly not unprotected 1sts from non-playoff teams. The Clippers inexplicably did it last year, but other than that it doesn't happen that often.

All of that is outside of the rest of the deal which I don't think the Kings would take.

Did you see what he did in the last game when he finally got some run at PF? I have no idea how you think his value has taken a huge hit. NBA GM's don't have a 2-minute attention span like most fans do. Everyone in the NBA knows what he did in college, everyone knows his work ethic and desire to improve his game, and everyone knows he is stuck behind Love. He also put up good numbers when Love was suspended.

And for the love of god, why is everyone still trying to put together these trades that rip our team apart again? We just need one or two guys to step up at our wing positions, play some D and hit some open shots. We don't need studs at those positions (although I wouldn't complain if we had studs there), we just need a couple of average NBA starters. Whether that comes from any of our players finally finding their potential, or coming from a trade, I don't care. But getting rid of everyone on the team to do that is dumb.

Well Evan Turner's value took a huge hit from playing behind Iggy, too.

Obviously, it might not take such a huge hit if Williams performed well in his limited time but I don't think that has been the case.
I mean defense doesn't count to his strenth's and he has scored in double figures only 3 times this month. I don't see how this doesn't affect his long term value.

I'm not sure how you can say Turners value took a hit, when he has never been traded.
You guys are just making stuff up in your heads and arguing about it. He also looked pretty good yesterday, so is his value now much higher then it was last week???
I don't think many scouts or GM's are quite this dumb.

I'd take on Tyreke Evans for WIlliams for sure. Evans is not the ideal fit at all, but you know who else is a less than ideal fit at SG... big **** time? Luke Ridnour. I'll happily trade out a backup PF playing garbage minutes for a starting SG. His off the ball problems are made up with additions to defense and the first legit half court slashing player in franchise history.

I wouldn't mind trading Williams for a SG, but Evans would be way down on my list of SGs I'd want.
