WOLVES @ CLIPPERS (9:30CST)

Post#1 » by theGreatRC » Tue Feb 28, 2012 6:16 pm

Game 1 @ LAC - http://www.nba.com/games/20120120/MINLA ... GIboxscore

Second-year center Nikola Pekovic had eight points and two rebounds in 11 minutes off the bench at Los Angeles last month, but has averaged 17.2 points and 10.4 boards over his last 13 games - 11 as a starter.
Minnesota, however, could have a tougher time beating Los Angeles with Chris Paul and Caron Butler in the lineup. Injuries kept both off the floor in the first meeting.

Probable starters
Timberwolves:
PG: Rubio
SG: Ridnour
SF: Johnson
PF: Love
C: Pekovic

Clippers
PG: Paul
SG: Foye
SF: Butler
PF: Griffin
C: Jordan

Key matchup:PG + C

I will be actually heading out to go to this game in real life, marking the first time I'll see the Timberwolves play in person.

As for the game, if we hardly could scratch out a win against a CP3/Bulter-less Clippers, how will we match up against a healthy Clipper team (excluding Billups)? Anyways, I'm excited for the game obviously; here's hoping we put on a good show.

Well that game was before Pek took off also. But, yeah, I'm not feeling too confident about this one.

They have quite a few Wolves fans there, at least at Staples during the game. I always hear a lot of fans cheering for the Wolves. It must be the Rubio factor and that Love is local. Also have other guys on here in the LA area that are diehards.

Another win against the almighty Clippers would be awesome, but I'm not feeling it.

I wonder if Blake Griffin is going to flop so hard he almost gives himself a concussion again like last time?

Seeing as how Griffin and Love are supposedly close, I wonder what Love thought of this bs?

CP3/Griffen/Jordan vs Rubio/Love/Pek. Not just talking about tonights game, but that 3-way battle could set up a heckuva rivalry for many years to come.

Like others have said that was before Pekovic broke out, hopefully he keeps it up against the length and athleticism of DeAndre Jordan. That game Williams and Billups were absolutely on fire. Gotta hope Williams doesn't play like that again.

I hate those West Coast games. They start way too late. Got a dentist appointment in the morning, too. No Basto for tonight which will probably be a good thing in foresight as I don't think we'll win this one but I'll hope for the best anyway

I just looked at Wes' stats compared to a lot of SG in the NBA and I wonder how you can only get 5.5 PPG from your starting SG????????????? How is he that bad????????? how does he start????????????

You do realize Wes hasn't played SG since Beasley got hurt in January dont you?
He's been almost exclusively SF. And you don't have to score to have value. See Sefolosha, Thabo, and Allen, Tony. He definitely needs to improve on the 38% shooting, but what do you expect him to put up in 22 minutes per game where he's the last option offensively behind Love/Pek/Luke/Ricky?
