Min/GS/Orl

Post#1 » by kmgarnett21 » Thu Mar 1, 2012 4:18 am

With the recent news that the Magic might inquire about Monta Ellis, I played around a little with a 3-team deal involving Minnesota. I don't do the whole "pretend GM" thing so this may be terrible or not even close. But what do you think?

Orl in: Monta Ellis
Orl out: Jameer Nelson, JJ Redick

Min in: JJ Redick, Dorrell Wright
Min out: Michael Beasley, Anthony Randolph

GS in: Jameer Nelson, Michael Beasley, Anthony Randolph
GS out: Monta Ellis, Dorrell Wright

Add whatever draft picks that would be needed. Maybe send Ridnour to Orlando.

Why for Orlando? They get a dynamic scoring guard that Dwight wants to play with while only trading Redick and Nelson (and possibly draft pick).

Ellis
Richardson
Turkoglu
Anderson
Howard

Why for Minnesota? They get the wing help and outside shooting they need while keeping Derrick Williams and getting something for Beasley in case we don't re-sign him in the offseason.

Rubio
Redick
Wright
Love
Pekovic

Why for GS? They get rid of Ellis, allowing Steph Curry to play with someone who knows how to pass a little more than Ellis, and they also get Beasley, who could be a great fit in GS. Throw in AR who has a lot of potential.

Nelson
Curry
Beasley
Lee

GS gives Ellis and receives Jameer Nelson? No way GS will do this

And Beasley and Randolph. GS can't be successful with both Ellis and Curry. I'm sure there's a way to make the trade a little more fair to all teams, but I just thought there could be something there with these 3 teams.

Warriors decline. Not only do they get worse talent in return, but they don't move Ellis for a much needed big.

It's hard to speculate how much ORL wants Ellis but if it's kept between MN, GS, and ORL trade below works money wise.

MN gets
+Brandon Rush

GS
+J.J. Redick
+Beasley
+Ryan Anderson

ORL
+Monta Ellis

But that trade disregards the fact that GS wants a center or at least a big that can play D.
So if the trade is made 4 ways with MN, GS, ORL, NO. Trade below works money wise and fills the needs of everyone except NO. Rumor is that NO just wants something back for Kaman.

MN
+Brandon Rush

GS
+Chris Kaman
+Ryan Anderson

ORL
+Monta Ellis

NO
+J.J. Redick
+Beasley
