What should we do with Darko Milicic at this point. It appears that Adelman has given up on him and possibly he has given up on himself. What can we do with him in terms of realistic trades this offseason/next year? I don't think we should keep him (If you do please give reasons why).

he could easily be amnistied in the offseason. I don't mind having him around as he's a huge body who can play decent defense and isn't paid awfully.

he's the only amnesty candidate we're ever gonna have so we might as well use it on him...i've said it before and i'm sure i'm in the massive minority, that i think a team might give a scrub expiring for him ...a team that needs a legit big body and who can guard *some* of the upper level post players better than most - as a back up 10 minute a game guy...someone like a chicago or indiana(depending on whats happening with asik/hibbert in free agency). i do believe he would acccept a buy out so he can go back to europe to play for red star - leave us on the hook for his cap hit next year and 1.8 million in 13/14 . can you buy someone out(save owner money) and then amnesty the cap off the books?

The only reason to amnesty him would be an opportunity to sign some good players and lacking the capspace to do so. Kahn should try to trade him first and see what the return for him could be. Negotiation of a buyout is also possible.

Yeah, a trade would be the best option, though I highly doubt anybody will really want him. I think a buyout is the most likely option. hopefully Darko will want to go home so bad he will agree to a reasonable buyout that the team can pay off over two years so it isn't a huge cap hit.

we can't get rid of him, he's the only person for pekovic to bond with. Never should've traded Mirotic in the draft, I knew that would haunt us.

well mirotic is quite lucky that he was dealt, because his fate here would have been at the bottom of lake minnetonka after pek got a hold of him and crushed his skull with his bare hands for his treachery in turning his back on montenegro and defecting to spain.

The Darko signing was an obvious fail, but I was always in the camp of "it's ok to hold onto him as a big body that can play some defense" as some have suggested above. That was before the recent comments by Adelman, however, that he doesn't work hard, he's fallen out of shape and doesn't deserve to play. First off, how do you fall out of shape in the middle of a season??? Second, he's as close to negative trade value as you will ever find. To get rid of him, we would need to give someone a draft pick to take on his salary... end of story. Even if it means his last year becomes gauranteed, I would be surprised if he isn't amnestied this offseason.

Magic fan here, looking to clear salary for 2013 and willing to take Darko/Ellington for JRich/Duhon (QRich).

How do you guys feel about that deal?

I feel disgustingly terrible about that deal.

I do feel like Darko is gone this off-season. I don't think he can recover from being this far in the doghouse right now. Adelman is turning to AR and Miller before Darko at this point. Tolliver is playing big minutes even.

Darko needs to go.

I thought I read somewhere that Darko was retiring either at the end of the year or when his contract's up. Guess it's the latter.

I do not have a link, unfortunately.
My best guess is Darko is bought out for $4 mil, and counts $2 mil against the cap over 2 years. But that's just speculation. I really liked the previous idea of Barea/Darko for Ben Gordon, with Detroit buying Darko out. We'll see.

I'd put this MF on a tread mill, bike, and stair stepper for 8 hrs a day. he has no stugots!
