Down goes Derrick, down goes Chicago (figuratively, so far)

BTW, my finals pick: San Antonio over Miami

LeBron loses in Finals for third time, twice vs SA

Rose was putting SOME pressure on his leg while being helped out. I see that as a good sign. Would really suck if he misses the post season and some next season because of a Rubio like injury.

If I recall Rubio tried and couldn't do it and was carried out. Rose was being helped but walking under some of his own power.

Steve Aschburner ‏@AschNBA
TNT courtside camera picked up Derrick Rose telling Bulls trainer, "I felt something pop." Otherwise, still awaiting medical report at UC.

Certainly doesn't sound good.

Edit:
Chicago Bulls PR ‏ @ChicagoBulls_PR
Rose Injury Update: Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose tore his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) and he's out for the remainder of the season.

Terrible news.

Looks like that talk about he short season causing major injuries has some merit. What a horrible situation. I was very excited to watch Rose in the playoffs. :nonono:

Rose ACL looks worse than Rubio's. Will be out for half of next season too and overall game will suffer long term, Just horrible to see.

Indiana's still got a decent shot of taking Miami. They're the only ones left though.

I hate to see injuries like that and two on the opening day of the playoffs too. I think Rose will get back to his best. Griffin had the same injury and he's still getting head and shoulders above the rim. His athleticism has actually improved since the ACL injury.

I watched the end of the Indy, Orlando game and the OKC game. Indy choked big time and I'm even more jealous of OKC.

i think griffin only fractured his knee cap which i can't imagine is more severe than a torn acl. really feel for rose and bulls fan...rose seems like a real good guy and it's just been a hell of a season for him. the greed of both players and owners is pretty ridiculous...they could have easily gone 60 or so games over the same time period and taken care of their health a little better. i'd be extremely concerned about rose's future given his athletic ability and that newly signed max contact. wishing him a speedy and full recovery.

Yeah, your right it wasn't an acl. Still, Baron Davis came back ok after his and plenty of other athletes have.

People say the Spurs' depth won't matter in the playoffs, but think about it. W ith all these injuries, some teams championship dreams might already be over. A team with depth like the Spurs has a much better chance of overcoming an injury to a top player.
