Corey Brewer for all his faults is a good player, I miss when we had him

In hindsight we should've kept him. I always liked him although he couldn't shoot. His main problem here was that he was asked to be 3rd option.

While I still love him as a player, we certainly have bigger issues to deal with than contemplating whether we should have kept a role player or not. You can always replace guys like him. He also would have taken away valuable cap space if he was still on the roster. And he certainly wouldn't have improved our wing play. Defensively yes but certainly not offensively, except for when we're out on the break which we don't do that often anyway.

I still can't stand watching him, glad he's gone.

If only Wes played with as much hustle and heart as Brewer...

It's hard not to like him as a person, even if you don't like him as a player.

Of course he is a good guy and anything is better than Wes. Still doesn't make me miss him.

Wolves need more players that give it their all. Brewer is exactly the type of role player this team needs.

I'd take him back but only because what we have now is so freaking terrible. Brewer on a bad day is still more productive than Wes/Web.

I just admire how he always finds some way to make an impact when he's out on the floor.

I would take Rodney Carney over Wes.

Corey gambles more than any player in the league. He gets some steals that lead to dunks, but he also gives up a lot of easy baskets when his gambles fail. Plus he flops all the time. This team needs a 2 with a reliable j, not another bricklayer.

I've always liked Brewer, if he could only learn how to knock down the wide open 3 at a decent % he would be a very good player to have.

yeah to clarify, I never said he was our long term answer as a starting SG, just a nice player to have who I enjoyed watching give 100%

Watching Denver reminds me we could have had Kenneth Faried. That guy would be such a great change of pace to Love.

Whilst Brewer has his ups and downs, you cant deny the fact that he gives 110% every single game. He also knows his limitations and his jumper has improved (as in mechanics/form). He had 3 different coaches in 3.5 years at Minnesota - so he never had a clear defined role.

In Denver, his role is an energy spark off the bench and he has thrived on it. He gives you just under 10 ppg in 20 mins, and he's playing well in the Playoffs.

I think Minnesota made a huge mistake releasing Brewer and keeping Wes at the Melo trade last year. Brewer and Rubio would have been a fast back court and an exciting one to watch.

Wes - wow, what a huge failure, he wont be in the league as long as Brewer. You have to remember, when the Knicks let Brewer go last year (an idiotic move by their FO) up to 14 teams chased him, because he does all the little things that don't necessarily show up in the boxscore, but impacts the game. He will never be a 20 point scorer, an all star - but he will always have a role on a Championship calibre team.

I wouldn't say he is a flopper, but I would say that he has cut down his gambling, and he can defend 1-3 positions.

It's always easy to point that out in hindsight. When Brewer was traded Wes, while having a rookie season where he performed below expectations, was still the player who we the fans and the front office believed would be the better fit. He had shown flashes of being a good defender, man-to-man, too, while having decent shooting numbers from beyond the arc which allowed us to space the floor better.

Being better than Wes Johnson means absolutely nothing. Brewer shot 26% from 3 on 2.2 attempts per game. That's horrible.

Corey and Rudy were traded for a future 2nd round pick in the offseason. They both are head and shoulders above any wing player on the Wolves roster right now. The need for a 2/3 players were as adamant then as it is now. KAAAAAAHN!
