Timberwolves forward Kevin Love has been named to the 2011-12 All-NBA Second Team, the NBA announced earlier today.

The All-NBA Teams were chosen by a panel of 120 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada. The media voted for All-NBA First, Second and Third Teams by position with points awarded on a 5-3-1 basis.

In 55 games this season, Love averaged a career-high and single season franchise-record 26.0 ppg (4th in the NBA) while hauling in 13.3 rpg, 2nd in the NBA. Love paced the NBA in double-doubles (48), finished 2nd in minutes played (39.0 mpg) and sat fourth in free-throws made (379). The 2012 Foot Locker Three-Point Contest winner, Love connected on 37.2% from beyond the arc this season, making a team-high 105 three-pointers. This season Love became the third player in NBA history to average 25+ points, and 10+ rebounds while making 50+ three-pointers. Love poured in a club-record 51 points March 23 at Oklahoma City, one of his single season franchise-record 19 30-point games.

Love joins Kevin Garnett (1st Team: 1999-00, 2002-03, 2003-04; 2nd Team: 2000-01, 2001-02, 2004-05; 3rd Team: 1998-99, 2006-07) and Sam Cassell (2nd Team in 2003-04) as Timberwolves to earn All-NBA honors.

Please get rid of that specific spot for a center. Chandler? Really?

He did shoot nearly 70 percent from the field while playing great defense. I got no beef with Chandler being 3rd team.

I have a problem with using shooting percentage to judge a big man. He only took easy dunks all year. Would you have a problem if Deandre Jordan was third all-nba team? The difference isn't much.

Deandre Jordan didn't play great defense and was significantly less efficient (on a smaller volume). I don't care about degree of difficulty on shots. All that matters is if they go in.

Exactly degree of difficulty shouldn't mean anything. Results are what matters. It's like when people tell me they hate Jon Jones because he's too big and long. I'm like "So what?" If he can make the weight and he gets the job done, then he's the man. Can't punish a guy because he has an easier time scoring as long as he gets the job done.

Yeah, what kind of a criticism is that? The guy plays top level defense and is incredibly efficient because he knows what he's good at.

I'd argue that Chandler should have been 2nd team over Bynum.

Just for **** n giggles, I went over to the Blazers board to see if they would say anything since some of them believe LMA > Love, and what do i see ?

this is pathetic. love/nowitzki,/griffin made it ahead of him.

The sooner some of these guys realize Love is the better player, the better.

Actually watch some games before you post non sense. Chandler played excellent defense all year long. Not everything is about stats.

The thing I like about Love is as soon as he found out, I'll bet his first thought was "I've got to go one better next season." He never rests on his laurels.

I have to give it up to Kevin Love. I was skeptical of his ability to get better especially in his conditioning/staying healthy and his inside offensive game. He has more than addressed my concerns. Congrats to Kevin.
