Luol Deng?

The Bulls are shopping him for a draft pick, but perhaps we can trade for Deng? He's a good defender, decent shooter, and has playoff experience at the small forward position. I think he would be an excellent piece to pick up this offseason. The trade would revolve around the 18th pick, and of course include a package of young player(s).

What are your thoughts?

My hunch is that the Bulls have their sights set on Barnes as Deng's replacement, or if Barnes was gone, Beal or MKG. I think it would have to be a three team trade where we sent out Williams for a pick that went to Chicago. However, at that rate, I would just much rather have the pick than Deng.

Hmmm
Trade asset to pay Deng $13.8 mil a year for 2 years.....
Sign AK47 to $7.7 mil a year and keep those assets....

ORRR, just overpay for Batum who is younger and wouldn't cost us any assets. AK47 and Gerald Wallace aren't bad options either.

Chicago wants a lottery pick, so I'm pretty confident they would expect Williams. Just want to also note that Deng could miss the first two months of the season.

I mean, there are a few trades that could make sense for Deng. If they want to throw in Asik and make it a 2-fer....I can trade Williams and ??? for them.

I wouldn't say it's dead it's just a matter of fitting both teams needs.

No doubt, it's just going to take a bit more than the #18th pick. If we offer Williams instead, I would expect to receive more than just Deng. Mirotic, Asik, Hamilton, and/or #29 are all pieces that I find appealing. It's not even worth asking for the Bobcats pick. Rose will be out for some time, so they might have some interest in an expiring like Luke Ridnour.

Deng would be nice, but Chicago rate him pretty highly. They would probably want Williams AND our first rounder.

its like 99.9% chance Deng misses at least some time to start the season and like cpfsf said, its going to be like a couple months more than likely.

I think Wallace would be a better fit for Wolves than Deng. AK is also a good idea. He was an absolute beast defensively and rebounding in Euroleague last season. But that doesn't seem likely, since I think he will either re-join Jazz or move to Brooklyn.

The bait is in the water. Chicago is doing some fishing. Will anyone bite. Probably not for a top 5 pick.

Why would Chicago want Williams when they have Boozer and Taj Gibson? Williams + first for Deng is the wolves getting slaughtered.

This would allow them to amnesty Boozer.

I'd like Deng, but I wouldn't trade Williams for him.

They might think they can turn him into a SF like we do. I didn't say I would do that trade, but I think the Bulls asking price would be somewhere near that.

Yezzir, Williams for Deng = win.

I certainly would if Deng wasn't injured. Deng is pretty much what we need in a SF. He's also as professional as one can be, unlike Williams who was rumored to be among the players who gave up weeks before the season was over.

I'd rather trade Williams + Darko's buyout to New Orleans for the #10 pick and cap space and sign Batum for 4 years, $50 mil than do this.

Think i'd pass on that option too. Taylor should pay for Darko's buyout. No need to water down assets to save money. Not if we want to win.
