The Day After
it looks like the next 24 hours will be critical for the Wolves. They have to decide on Websters deal or trade him,. They have to figure out if they are going to offer deals to Beasley and Randolph or use them for trading chips. If they don't do anything then they have to bank on getting someone worthy as a free agent. Who has been the most note-worthy free agent signing the Wolves have got? To me they have to make a move similar to what they did when they first ever got into the playoffs when they got Porter and Mitchell that veteran presence helped them a lot.

Re: The Day After
I'm guessing Kahn is working the phones hard to find a willing partner to take on Webster and Miller although he doesn't have that much time as their contracts are fully-guaranteed as of July 1st.
If he can't find a partner I would expect both of them to be bought out (or Miller retires)
I think he'll do the same for Beasley and Randolph although it has been speculated that Beasley may be involved in an S&T although we'd have to extend a QO which is over $8 mil and a big cap hold so I am wary of that. Should be an interesting next few days!

Agreed. Hopefully it's not a panic trade with Webster or Miller. I think all 4 are gone without any deals though.

At the Budinger press conference Kahn was making it sound like Miller and Webster could grant extensions past their July 1 date.

If Miller is retiring anyway, then he's just doing them a small favor. Webster? Don't know.

I don't know - until then I didn't even think it was a possiblitiy. I agree with Esony.
Miller could be planning to retire and aiming for a assistant coach job.
Don't think its realistic but Webster could figure he's got a chance of keeping his entire $5.7M 2012-13 contract if he gets traded to a team that values him (and his Bird rights) as opposed to us who are likely waiving him for $0.6M plus whatever he'll get in a FA deal.

Re: The Day After
I dont know how many people listen to KFAN, but the "bring me the news" segment (or whatever you call it) just said we're trying to get Pau again!! Give me a Paul Allen "GYAH!" Anyway, I come here to the team page and the news story at the top is saying we're going after Pau again too.... Man I really hope this is LA fans and sources being delusional.
Bring me the news said we tried to trade Williams for the #2 so we could deal that for Pau... Why wouldnt we have just taken a SG and filled a need? This story doesnt make sense to me, so I'm going to assume its not true. I havent posted much on here, but in real life I'm a Kahn defender. If we trade for Pau without upgrading our SG situation, I'm not going to be able to defend him anymore.

What does one move have to do with the other? The entire organization knows SG needs an upgrade. I'm completely on the fence regarding any Pau trade. I'm not sure how him and Love will work on the defensive side, but he'd be a perfect fit to Adelmans offence. And I have to see what we give up for him. If both Pek and Williams go, I'd be a lil upset.

Re: The Day After
lets be honest, Kahn should've retired after trading Foye and Miller and drafting Rubio at #5 as the best GM of all time, then let his successor pick up the job at pick # 6.

Re: The Day After
i do actually hope we bring randy back...he should be cheap and he's actually a good compliment to love and pek's below the rim game and rubes running game. if coach can lay our a clear role for randy as just a shot contester, rebounder, runner, dirty work guy than he can be a very useful player for his price tag. if we are gonna use the cap room somewhere else, fine, but don't tell me we're gonna let him go and then not use the cap space.
zero reason what so ever to not waive webster and miller. i hope we can salary dump jj & memphis pick to toronto who need a back up guard for may be a future 2nd and a top 20 protected pick. let malcolm take the reigns as the back up 1/2 until ricky gets back.

Did we hear why they agreed to extend their deadline? My guess would be we had to give them something in the deal - particularly Webster to allow the contract to be changed.

Yeah they were extended but I don't know about any other details.
