Don't think it's a sure-fire solution, but it is a bold move. Hopefully his knees can hold up.

Pretty exciting name, though.

No offense, but I'll believe it when ESPN reports it.

Hope its true. Especially after just hearing about Portland going to match any offer sheet and no S&T for Batum.

I hope you guys waste some cap space on Roy. His last year with Portland he was a hobbled jump shooter who only shot 40% overall. He needs to stay retired, both his knees are bone on bone.

I just threw up in my mouth a little.
There is zero cartiliage left in his kness. Cartiliage doesn't grow back.
There will be no medical miracle here.
If true it better not be for more than 3 mil a year or so for 2 years at most.

I have no issues with either the Wolves or Brandon. I hope it works out for both of you

Yes, the procedure he had on his knees completely failed, and his knees are still completely worthless. He enjoys the pain of running and jumping with those knees so much he wants to play again on them.

Why on earth would anyone think Roy would want to play if he knees were as bad as they were before he had the procedure done? OK, no, he will never be the same player again. And yes, there is probably a decent chance he is unable to finish the year. But if his knees were still completely messed up, and he couldn't do anything on them, do you really think Adelman would be dumb enough to say "sure! let's sign him!"

I'm in favor of seeing what he can do.

You got to think the wolves wouldn't have signed him unless they were confident in his ability to contribute in some meaningful way. It's a risky move, perhaps one that bears a slight scent of desperation but it's a move the front office wants to make. Now if this blows up in our faces.... huge black mark on Kahn.

Yeah, I'd much rather go with the sure fire solid starter in Lee, and then "gamble" on Shved to be a rotation player and maybe develop into more of a difference maker...for 3 million.

Eeesh. I sure hope that they sign another guy for when his knees aren't grinding together on the court. Of course, that leaves Mayo out since he thinks he's a starter (and a star). Not sure if Lee wants more of a starting role or if he'd just be happy to get a solid contract.

If the stem cell therapy worked, and he is healthy, we got one heck of a player.

The agent for free agent guard Brandon Roy, Greg Lawrence, said Thursday evening that Roy could pick his new team “in the next day or so” after getting down to five finalists, despite reports that Roy has decided to play for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

“What the doctors have told us is he’s cleared without restrictions,” Lawrence said. “He feels really good. I wouldn’t say that him working out replicates the grind of a season…but one of the things he’s adamant about is, I don’t want to come back and be just another player. He’s not coming back to be a 10, 15-minute guy. He wants to help a team. He’s not going to be chasing a ring.”

So you guys think he signed to be a starter? I assumed we were going to sign him as a super role player/possible sixth man.
