Nothing new here, he's talked about wanting the team to improve before. The stakes are the same, although there's less time than there should be because Kahn/Taylor were too stupid to sign him to a 5 year contract.

Most of us have been wolves' fans longer than he's played on the team and i'm pretty impatient about another playoff run too, so i'm happy that he said what we are all wanting to say.

We are the team with the longest playoff drought in the league.

His mind is being poisoned by the darkside.

The front office is making the effort. Mr. Love needs to do his part as the leader of this team. I give him credit for his hard work making himself the player he is, but he needs to be a bit more patient for the good of the team right now. He needs to get his point across to some of his teammates that just showing up isn't enough. I expect a better atmosphere around the team with Roy here and Darko gone. No more excuses this year.

Oh.. and I don't like his generalization of the situation. It sounds like whining. If he has something constructive to say, it should be specific.

I think it's fair. He's going into his 5th season here and it's been nothing but losing up until we got Rubio. Then of course Rubio went down and we became the 2011 Wolves.

Management is very aware about the situation and that's why they're working real hard this off-season. With a healthy squad and a strong off-season, I see no reason why we can't make the playoffs.

I said this on the GB, but I think this will give Kahn/Taylor the extra kick in the butt, to go get Iggy if we lose on Batum.

Kahn's biggest concern will be securing a contract extension for himself as next season will be the last year of his contract. This may encourage Kahn to be more aggressive now and in the near future. This could be beneficial as long as he doesn't acquire an unnecessary contract in an act of desperation. While Love's future in Minnesota and Kahn's extension are somewhat linked, it's safe to assume where Kahn's priorities lie.

I think Kevin is a douche, talented but a douche. Maybe a S&T - Batum for Love?

Rubio got injured otherwise we were on track. FAs seem to want to come here. If we don't make the playoffs by the time Kevin's contract is up, by all means leave. But I think some of that burden falls on him.

And if he were so concerned about winning, why is he making 2.5X as much as the next player on the Wolves? We could surround himself with better players if he took a paycut.

The league has become too buddy-buddy with little bad-blood between players/teams. The stars have become spoiled and just want to pair up to create "super" teams. Annoying as hell. Maybe a result of AAU?

You have to understand where he is coming from.

He is being completely transparent and I think it is fair for him to expect the FO to make some bigger moves this off-season.

Roy is a great move and the Budinger deal will end up looking pretty clever but Iggy or Batum is what he seems to be looking for... at least I hope so.

If not for them, what the hell else can we do?
Already established players of "greatness" such as Nash and Ray Ray want titles asap. I believe what we are attempting to do this off-season is spot on with what needed to be done and really what could be done.

However, if the Batum plan fails, we absolutely need to land another immediate impact player.
Whether it's Lee, Iggy, or another wing, K-Love is our cornerstone and we need to keep the cornerstone happy.

I see where he is coming from. Still, the team made huge strides last year and that was with pathetic wings and a (awesome) rookie point guard. Hopefully Ricky is able to come back soon enough and contribute, Roy pans out, and they get Batum/Iggy and Shved/Lee. Also, the Budinger trade will look very good by the end of the year. I'm sure he is just getting on record for a little extra motivation for the front office, but I think they know more than anyone that the time is now. It just seems a little untimely considering that the Wolves have actually been very aggressive so far.

Still can't believe we didn't offer five years. At a minimum we would have guaranteed ourselves five years of Rubio playing with Love. Now if Rubio doesn't come back at full strength quickly, we might face a trade demand next summer. Ugh.

As others have said, at least we're going to be active this off season. I see a lot of people saying Iggy is plan B, and I think he should be, but Doogie seems to think Lee is next in line.

Most of Love's Olympic teammates are part of a supposed 'superteam.' LeBron, Durant, Westbrook, Harden, Kobe, Deron, Griffen, Melo, Chandler all play on teams with multiple stars. Supposedly Miami's big 3 decided to team up during the Olympics 4 years ago.

I would enjoy hearing any type of specific suggestion from him to get an idea of his expectations. Adding Roy, Bud, and potentially Batum to fix the main weakness on a team that appeared to be playoff bound pre Rubio injury warrants these comments?

It could be a lot worse for Love. Sure he doesn't have a Durant level partner (few do) like his former teammate Westbrook but at least he isn't on a treadmill team like LRMaM.

actually I think specific advice would be a bad thing. LeBron was practically the assistant Gm of the cavs and look how that turned out. Most players aren't good GM's. Also, maybe he doesn't want to be specific to the public? I dunno.

anywho, I think that I'd rather him say this now, than having everyone else say "shoulda added more talent" when he's starting for the lakers. And while I think that he should bear some responsibility for the epic collapse post-rubio, the one thing we can all agree is that he has shown commitment to getting better every year. If he comes out next season with a more polished offensive game and a newfound intensity on defense, then it'll be on the FO to make moves to get the twolves into contention.

If not then he should really stfu.

I believe in the power of love though, so I'm hopeful it's the former.

I don't get this. He's already said it once already and it's pretty freaking obvious the team is pulling out all the stops to get a great team around him. Why the hell does he have to say it again?

because he was asked? kluv has been a winner since high school, and while i'm sure you're well-versed, his high school career was almost Alcindorian,,,and all the way through UCLA. that was the life he led until minn, where not only is it a 180 turnaround, but he's not even appreciated for the effort. He's had doubters his whole career. Through all these doubters he expects great things of himself and it should be no surprise that he expects the same from those he deals with, and quite frankly everyone but two or three teammates have fallen flat on their @rse.

he was groomed by his dad to be media savvy and has strived to take the high road. he will say the right things, and as someone pointed out, he's always transparent. at least he''s not acting like a whiny crybaby as many already have.

i think he views minn's recent moves as patchwork, not an upgrade, at least, that is how i view them. i also think, this olympic experience isn't helping minn out at all, because as someone pointed out, ALL his olympic teammates have solid ELITE help but him. honestly i would be envious as hell. this is REALLY not a good time to be asking kluv about anything minn/kahn related.
