Is this a 6 seed?

Post#1 » by AVolumeScorer » Mon Jul 9, 2012 3:49 pm

Rubio
Roy[25 MPG?]
Batum
Love
Pek
Williams/Barea/Johnson/Budinger/Hummel

Probably missed a few players but that looks like a good lineup to me

If Roy and Rubio are relatively healthy, I think its higher than a 6

Roy is a bigger question mark than Rubio, but I think the Wolves peak is 5[ahead of Memphis] barring some major injury to the top 4[LAL/OKC/SAS/LAC].

Has there been any news coming out regarding Roy's health? We've all seen what he could do even on no knees[G4 vs Dallas].

My hunch is that Rubio takes a while to get back in the groove and Roy is able to give some, but nothing near what he used to... 7th seed

OKC
Lakers
Spurs
Clippers
Memphis
Minny
Nuggets
Warriors

That's my prediction if you guys get Batum. I don't see Dallas doing anything this year unless they get someone else[Dirk/Shawn Marion with your third best player being the corpse of Vince Carter isn't going anywhere]. The Suns might sneak into the 7-8 spot if they get Gordon, but that's looking unlikely.

I think your overrating The Clippers, and we will see how SA plays with Parker's eye injury.

I don't think they'll fall any lower than the 6 seed imo, who do you see above them besides Memphis? And the Nuggets might jump over you guys depending on health for Rubio/Roy

Yeah, those are 2 teams that I think are a little over-rated. Although.. I always think the Spurs are on the doorstep of their decline, but they never seem to follow through!

1. OKC
2. LAL
3. MEM
4. SA
5. LAC

I think the last 3 spots will be a 5-way race between:
DEN
UTA
MN
GS
POR - depending on how the Hibbert/Batum situation goes

We should be the best of the rest depending on how Hibbert/Batum goes and if we are healthy.

If healthy I think they are right in the 6th or 7th seed range. It's going to depend on health, of course we can say the same thing about San Antonio. I'd probably put MN, LAC, and DEN at about the same level, maybe SAS, too but they are hard to place right now.

This is the first time I believe they would decline. Parker was their MVP last season, if he is out for awhile or is affected by the injury, they will suffer.

I know this will make me sound like a homer, but I really think we will be top 4 next year and have home court advantage in the first round. We are one of the teams with the brightest future in the West especially when this offseason is finished.

As for the list one if not two will have major injury issues especially considering the age of those teams. I have little doubt that OKC will be better than us next year, but everyother team on that list I think can be debated.

SA: Popp is a great coach and they had a great year. Duncan is declining and will hit the wall soon. I like Ginobili and Parker, but they too are aging and with all the other aging veterans on that team there really is a cumulative effect of aging on that team.

LAL: They too are aging and though I like Nash the fit is absolutely horrible for that team. They keep the pace really slow due to Bynum and Kobe. The only one who has a chance to be a good pick n' roll pair with Nash is Gasol and I don't know if that will come to fruition.

Mem: They lose Mayo and honestly I think we almost match their talent already.

LAC: We played them very close head-to-head this year. They are a better playoff team due to CP3, but in terms of regular season we can absolutely match their win total. Griffin is a highlight reel with a tremendous future, but he still doesn't have a jump shot which will be needed for them to take the next step.

We'll make the playoffs that's a given

What seed? Unsure but if I had to guesstimate somewhere between 4-8

It would be nice if we could pull of something akin to the 76er's

Rubio/Ridnour/Barea (one or the other, not sure if we're keeping both)
Roy/Ellington/Malcolm Lee
Batum/Budinger/Derrick Williams/Wes/Hummel
Love/Derrick Williams/Tolliver
Pek/Stiemsma

Yeah, I see that team making it. A sixth seed? I can see it, as long as yeah, we can stay healthy. Also what could help us get a higher seed, is the fact that some of the western teams appear to be getting weaker, except for the Hornets haha

Is this the Hornets lineup assuming they get Gordon back?
Jack/Rivers
Gordon/Rivers/Belinelli?
Vasquez?/Miller
Davis/Aminu
Kaman/Ayon

that doesn't look any better than even Golden State tbh

Ah, forgot about that

Still doesn't look better than Rubio/Roy/Batum/Love/Pek though
